Alger Miles Herndon (July 26, 1897 - June 26, 1971), called "John", was the son of James Crews Herndon (1854-1920), and Loura Belle Browning Herndon (1867-1919). He married to Carrie Sanford, and had two children: Jo Ann and Nona Gay.

Elsie Lee Herndon (July 18, 1889 - March 2, 1958), daughter of James Crews Herndon (1854-1920), and Loura Belle Browning Herndon (1867-1919). Elsie married James Finley Lindsey (1889-1942) on Dec. 14, 1914. Their children: Mary James Lindsey (1919-1997), and Naomi Lee Lindsey (1923-2001).

Elsie Lee Herndon Lindsey was Benton County's first librarian.

Hattie Isabelle Herndon (Dec. 19, 1884 - Oct. 21, 1932), was the daughter of James Crews Herndon (1854-1920), and Loura Belle Browning Herndon (1867-1919). She married Lindsey Melton (1880-1954). Their children: Lindsey Wayne Melton (1907-1908); Colin Ward Melton (1909-1954); Theresa Delilah Melton (b. 1913); and Reid Hildreth (1917-1972).

Henry Floyd Herndon (Feb. 23, 1904 - Sept. 13, 1970), son of James Crews Herndon (1854-1920), and Loura Belle Browning Herndon (1867-1919). Floyd married Marguerite Frogge on July 13, 1930. They had one child, Floy Marie Herndon.

James Crews Herndon (1854-1920) and Loura Belle Browning Herndon (1867-1919), were the parents of Lila Herndon Furr, as well as 10 other children.

James was the son of David Herndon and Isabella Vester Herndon, and Loura Belle was the daughter of Bennett Sarrett Browning and Emaline Sykes Browning

James Ivan Herndon (April 19, 1887 - June 29, 1969), son of James Crews Herndon (1854-1920), and Loura Belle Browning Herndon (1867-1919). He was first married to McIva Durdin (1894-1966), and had children: Theressa Belle Herndon (1913-1999), James Albert Herndon (1916-1972), and Roger Bennett Herndon (1918-1981).
James Ivan Herndon was married, secondly, to Rubye Lockhart Vick (1893-1970).

Mayne Gay Herndon (Sept. 13, 1906 - April 8, 2000. She was the daughter of James Crews Herndon (1854-1920), and Loura Belle Browning Herndon (1867-1919). James Crews Herndon was the son of David Herndon (1824-1890), and Martha Isabelle Vester (1827-1891).

Gay was married 0n April 4, 1931 to Richard Thomas (Tommy) Brooks, (Sept. 21, 1905 - Dec. 9, 1966), son of Richard Albert Brooks (1869-1941), and Martha Ella Brewer Brooks (1870-1949)
