- I am seeking information on my g-g-grandparents, Turner
Martin and his wife, Jemimah Hays Martin. They were married in
Wilkes Co. NC in 1810 and resided for many years in Carter
County TN. Sometime after 1850 they relocated to Putnam County
along with other family members. Their son, William Ellis
Martin was in Overton County TN in 1850. Their daughter,
Elizabeth Eveline Martin and her husband, Samuel Allen Patton,
were in Putnam County in 1860 and were in Overton County in
1880. I believe that both Turner and Jemimah Martin died about
1859 or 1860. They may have resided in the Algood area. I am
especially interested to find death dates and burial locations
for both of them.

- John Dillard WAITES married Sarah Frances LEWIS , no dates
known. They had Oscar Lee WAITES who was born 2/14/1892 and
died 11/5/1974 and was buried in the Param (sp?) Cemetary.
Oscar married Martha Emaline Stone.We know their children but
are now stuck, any info would be greating appreciated,esp.

STEPHENS

Sherman Stephens enlisted in WWI from Putnam Co. I've
personally seen his discharge papers, although he is not listed

- FRANKLIN, I am searching for James M. and Mahala Franklin,
their son David Franklin, his wife Francis are listed in the
1900 Putnam County Census, I believe that James M. and Mahala
might also be listed in the same census, David and Francis are
listed in District 14, I do not have access to the 1900 census.

- Would like to obtain information on the town of Buffalo
Valley, TN. Facts about the town (people, businesses,
activities, churches, school, etc.) in the days before
interstate 40 divided it in half. Pictures of town's buildings,
homes and people would be helpful also. My grandfather, ABE
LYNCH, lived in Buffalo Valley until his death in 1961. Were
there ever any books published about the town?

CUMBY/BLANKENSHIP
- On the 1880 Putnam Co. census there is a Richard CUMBY and
his wife Nancy (BLANKENSHIP) listed. Along with this family
there is a M. BLANKENSHIP, age 75, shown as father-in-law. Does
anyone have any information concerning who this M. Blankenship
is and where he came from. Also, is there any Blankenship
families living in Putnam Co. on the 1860 or 1870 census. Any
