- Looking for the names of the children of Rendy Rice who (m)
Tom Johnson. Rendy was born June 20, 1891 and died January 07,
1964. Tom was born June 12, 1888 and died October 13, 1950.
Rendy was the daughter of Nancy Catherine Gambrell and William
(Billie) Rice of White County. Her mother, Nancy, died in
Putnam County.

- Felix Payton MCBROOM md Mary PARKINSON abt 1890. They lived
in Cookeville, Putnam Co, TN in 1892 where their dau Roxie Ann
was b 3 Nov 1892. Roxie md first John DANIELS and had eleven
ch. Then she md Grover Cleveland BAGBY and had one dau. Roxie d
29 Jun 1952 of a stroke at Ponder, MO, she is bur at Ponder.
Don't know Roxie's siblings, or Felix's siblings. Any help at
all greatly appreciated.

PRICE
- Looking for information on Company D, 84 Tennessee
Infantry. (Confederate) My ancestor Lorenza D. Price enlisted
at McMinnville on Dec. 15, 1862 by S. S. Stanton for 3 years
and was deceased 28 Feby 1863. Does anyone know of any fighting
by this unit during this timeframe? Putnam County, Tn.
Confederate Units lists the 84th infantry Com.D became the 28th
Inf. company H, on March 8, 1863, about a week after my
ancestor died.

- Am looking for more info on Meredith J. (Jurdan or Jordan)
GENTRY, 1823-97, in I think Putnam County. Married Fannie
Frances SHANKS in 1848. Farmer, fought in Civil War. Also info
on their son, Robert Simon GENTRY, 1849-1925. Married twice, to
Maudie BOCKMAN in 1878 and Lucy Franklin in 1894. Had 15
children, including (with Maudie) my grandfather Robert
Napoleon Gentry, 1890-1964, who moved to Calif. after WWI. Have
"old" info on Nicholas, Samuel, etc., but need more on 19th and
20th century. Thanks!!

listed names. The family was listed 1830-1850 census in Jackson
Co. Tenn. Oldest son says on Military Record for Civil War that
he was born in Putnam Co. Asa HERRELL appears to be the father
of my Gr-gr-grandfather William Van HAREL (1830-1907) who lived
in Smith Co. Tenn. Left family there in 1890 and died in San
Antonio, Texas 1907. Can someone please help???? Brothers and
sisters were Sally born 1834, James 1835, Francis 1838, Jane
1840, Marlin 1841, Martha 1842, Riller or Corilla 1845, Emeline

- does anyone in putnam county have any info on Shanks,
simon, wife unknown--believe our cherokee blood came in on this
line. His daughters Francis married meredith jordan Gentry,
Mary Elizabeth married David Wood Maxwell--their offsprings
were the parents of Ada Maxwell Byers, my greatgrandmother. Ada
looked indian and said it was cherokee, but she didn't know
anything about Simon.

have finally gotten my ggr-parents names but am at a stop
again, my family seems to be in the Putnam area for awhile, is
there anyone who can help me locate anything for the Putnam
area?? My father is Joe Frank DAVIDSON(1945), his father and
mother are Frank,(1917-1979) and Ollie (STEELE)(1920-1988)
DAVIDSON and Frank's parents are Jeff and Maranda (VICKS)
DAVIDSON, I am still waiting for the info for Ollie, I have
been told they were buried in the Crestlawn Cemetery, not sure,
am also wanting to find out the local newspaper to see if I can

MAHAN, STEWART
- Looking for the Putty family in Putnam Co. By the 1900
Census, Fleland C. (aka Claude Freeman) Putty and his sister
Miniy (sp?) were living with their uncle James Maxwell. James
Maxwell's wife Sanorah (Mahan) was sister to Samantha (Mahan)
the Putty children's mother and wife of Hyes (?) Putty.
Samantha died in childbirth when Fleland Claude was born
(1891-1893) and Hyes had also passed away before 1900. Any info
on any of these families would be greatly appreciated, but the
Puttys seem to be the most elusive!

died 1854 in Putman Co. Married Martha RICE app. 1806 in VA,
move with William to Putman Co. about 1809. After Martha death,
he married Hannah HARPER about 1852 or 53. Married only about a
year and he died. Children of William and Martha are William H.

Fielding, Elijah, Martha, and Arena. I am interested in the
