Know all men by these presents, that we, H. J. Wright, and Dora Wright, have this day bargained, sold, aliened, transferred and conveyed and do by these presents transfer and convey unto J. L. Bickerstaff the following described tract or parcel of land, lying in civil district No. 1, Crockett County, Tennessee, and bounded as follows; on the north by Wright; on the south by Bickerstaff on the east by Bickerstaff; on the west by Williams: containing 17 acres; and is the same tract assessed for taxes for year 1895 to the Faulkner heirs; we further covenant and agree with the said J. L. Bickerstaff that we are lawfully seized of said land and have a right to convey the same; that it is unencumbered save and except the taxes for 1895 and 1896, which we agree to pay and thereby relieve said land of any and all encumbrance; and Mrs. Dora Wright hereby releases and relinquishes any and all right to homestead and dower in and to said land or any part thereof. Consideration for said land is Fifty dollars cash in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. We further covenant and agree that we will warrant and forever defend the title to said land against the lawful claims of any and all persons whomsoever. Personally appeared before me, D.B. Dodson; clerk of the county court of said county, the above named H. J. Wright, he bargainer, with whom I am personally acquainted, and acknowledged that he executed the within named instrument for the purposes therein contained, And Dora Wright wife of the said H. J. Wright having personally appeared before me, privately and apart from her husband, the said Dora Wright acknowledged the execution of the said instrument to have been done by her freely, voluntarily, and understandingly, without compulsion or constraint from her said husband and for the purposes there in contained.

H. J. Wright is my great great grandfather, the J. stands for Joe/Joseph and Dora Wright is his third wife, her maiden name was Dora Jaynes, they were married in Crockett County and my great grandmother was born in Crockett County, her name was Susan Frances Wright Henson, H.J. Wright was her father and Dora Jaynes Wright was her stepmother.
