Know all men by these presents that we, H. J. Wright, J. D. Wright, Mary Jane Wright, Nancy Waynick and G. J. Waynick her husband, and Hetty Crull heirs of Thomas Wright deceased have for and in considerations of the sum of fifty dollars cash in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged this day bargained sold and by these presents do sell transfer and convey unto J.L. Bickerstaff of the county of Crockett our one third interest in the following described tract of land situated in the 1st civil district of Crockett County Tenn and bounded as follows: on the north by the tract of land this day conveyed by us to S. R. Ellington, on the East by Bickerstaff, on the South by Bickerstaff and on the West by Williams. To have and hold the said one third undivided interest in said land – said to contain seventeen acres more or less, forever. We covenant with the said Bickerstaff that we are lawfully seized and possessed of said one third undivided interest in said 17 acres, and that the same is unencumbered; and that we have a good right to convey the same: and I Dora Wright, wife of H.J. Wright, and I Lucinda Wright wife of J. D. Wright, and I Mary Jane Wright and I Nancy Waynick wife of Waynick: and I Hetty Crull do each and all jointly, and severally hereby waive and relinquish any and all rights to homestead, and dower in and to said land. We further warrant and agree to defend the title to the said one third individual interest in said land to the said J.L. Bickerstaff, and his heirs against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. Given under our hands and seals this Dec 17th 1896.H.J. Wright

Acknowledgement

Be it remembered that on day came before me the undersigned a Justice of the peace within, and for the county aforesaid, duly commissioned, and acting J.D. Wright and Hetty Crull to me well known as the grantors in the foregoing deed, and stated that they had executed the same for the considerations and purposes there in mentioned and set fourth; And on the same day also appeared before me the said Lucindy Wright, wife of the said J.D. Wright to me well known and declared that she had of her own free will signed and sealed the relinquishment of dower and homestead in the foregoing deed for the considerations and purposes therein mentioned and set fourth without compulsion or undue influence of her said husband.Witness my hand as such Justice of the peace on this 25th day of December A.D. 1896.

Wright, bargainers to within or foregoing deed of conveyance with whom I am personally acquainted, and acknowledged the execution of the same, and for the purposes therein contained, And Mrs. Dora Wright wife of the said H.J. Wright having also appeared before me privately and apart from her said husband, and acknowledged the execution of the within or foregoing instrument to have been done by her freely, voluntarily, and understandingly without compulsion or constraint whatever from her said husband and for the purposes therein expressed.
