He also declared that he had served as substitute for both Jonathan ADAMS and David ADAMS. He died 16 Jan 1842 leaving a widow (not named). A Stephen ADAMS was executor of his estate. His relationship to Jonathan, David and Stephen ADAMS was never stated. According to Vol. I, p. 14 of the Centennial Edition of the DAR PATRIOT INDEX, Part 1, p. 17, Micajah ADAMS, a private in the North Carolina Line, was born in 1759 in North Carolina, died 1842 in TN; married Elizabeth HOLSTON.

Richard Cavett RICHARD CAVETT, born 1765 "on the headwaters of the James River" in what was later Botetourt County, Virginia, applied for his revolutionary pension on August 19, 1820, a resident of Madison County, Alabama, then age 70 years old. He declared that while still a child, his father, Moses CAVETT, and his family moved to Sullivan County, North Carolina (now Tennessee) and that his father was in the battle of King's Mountain under Colonel Shelby. He stated that he, Richard, wanted to go to the King's Mountain battle and that he went to Colonel Shelby's quarters and begged to go but that his father, Moses CAVETT, made him stay at home to protect the forts and the families. He was then only 15 years of age. He did join the service and fought in the Indian warfare on the frontier for two years during the Revolution. He continued in the service for eight years fighting Indians, making a period of ten years in all. He moved after that to Roane County, Tennessee, where he lived for 16 years, and thence to Madison County Alabama (Rev War Pension File)

After the War, he lived for two years in that part of Campbell County, Virginia which was formerly a part of Bedford Co, VA, then moved to South Carolina for 6 yrs, then moved to >Sullivan Co, Tennessee for 33 yrs, then to Wayne Co, KY, then to Washington Co, Missouri where he applied for his pension on 5 Feb 1833, In 1833 his brother, John JOHNSON, was of Washington Co, Missouri, and in 1833, a James J. JOHNSON was a JP for Washington Co, MO, but no relationship to soldier was stated. (Extracted from Pension S16891, Virgil D. James and John JOHNSON and their brother, William, were sons of Benjamin and Mary MOORMAN Johnson (Miller) of Bedford/Campbell Co, VA, and apparently elder half-brothers of Pleasant Moorman Miller* who removed to Hawkins County, Tennessee in 1796 from Lynchburg, Campbell County, Virginia, to Hawkins County, Tennessee in 1796, and to Knox County in 1800. See 1788 Sullivan Co, TN Militia List of Thomas Vincent Probably the same as: PATRICK MORRISON, Pension R75415, NC Line, lived in Rowan Co, NC at enlistment and married Ann FOSTER abt 1769 in Rowan Co, NC. After the War they moved to TN and in 1801 were living in Sumner Co, TN, and later moved to Wilson Co, TN where he died 16 Jul 1833, and his widow died 20 Sep 1838. They had several chidren, but the only surviving child at the time of his mother's death was a son Hugh MORRISON who died 16 Apr 1852 in Crittenden Co, KY, his wife having predeceased him. At his death, he left 2 children: Ann and Martha MORRISON, both living in Crittenden Co, KY in 1852. On 10 Aug 1852 one Benjamin BELT, adm'r of Patrick MORRISON'S estate made application for pension which may have been due soldier at his death. George Rutledge In 1947 my father, Hugh McClellan, registered me with the National Daughters of the American Revolution. The ancestral lineage given by him was as follows: General George Rutledge to his daughter, Jane Rutledge Anderson, to her daughter, Adeline Anderson McClellan, to her son, Samuel McClellan, to his son, Hugh McClellan, to his daughter, Margaret Adeline McClellan. George RUTLEDGE, who fought in the Revolutionary War at the Battle of Kings Mountain, was given as the DAR ancestor. The application was verified by the then national registrar, Lillian Curry, and given the number: 294031. The national number of the application to the DAR was 60281.
