Seeking info. on the WANN family, spec. Juda Catherine
"Kate" WANN(1853-1941) who married William Porter
KIMBROUGH(1850-1922). They lived in the Hildebrand House w/9 kids
for 21 years. I have more KIMBROUGH info than WANN info., but
would love to exchange photos and info. on either family.

Looking for any information on the families of Acarious
Monterville (Monty) Hampton and Mary Arizona (Zony) Akins family
of Copperhill, Polk County, TN and surrounding area. The Hamptons
lived in Copperhill, TN in the early 1900's. Their children were:
Helen, Lela Bell, Roy Littleton, Arlie Marion, Lloyd
Edward,Warren Clyde,Edith Marie. Any family stories, history,
copies of documents, newspaper clippings, etc. will be most
appreciated. I will be happy to pay for the expense of copies and

I am looking for information on my grandfather John Henry
SCROGGINS and his brother Will SCROGGINS. I think they came to
Polk County from either Oklahoma or Texas but I have not been
able to confirm this. John lived on the Mountain Road near
Mountain View Baptist Church and Will lived in Delano. I think
they both died around 1960.

ADAMS article # 154 in Polk Co TN Heritage bk submitted by
Donna K. Adams lists her parents as James Adams and Rita
McDougal. Her grandparents were Wash Adams b 1 Sept 1907 and Loma
Spurling b 12 May 1918. Does anyone have further information on

My great grandfather was born in Ducktown, TN according to his
son's (my grandfathr's) birthcertificate. On Dec. 2, 1910, he was
36 years old. His full name was John Adam Thompson. In 1910 he
lived in Denison, TX, with his wife, May Adele Alger Thompson.
Any info you have would be greatly appreciated.

William Rolling DENNIS was born 16 Nov. 1876 in Benton, Polk
Co. His father is said to have died before he was born. His
mother remarried, possibly to a man named BATTLES. William
married Minnie Catherine RUSSELL in Blount Co. in 1899. I'm
seeking information on William's parents. Can you help?

Looking for info on my Grandfather WILLIAM BROWNLOW BEAVER. He
was born about 1864. He married IDA PATE on Jan 4 1899. He died
on March 1 1937. He and his family lived in Ducktown during the
winter and moved to Murphy NC in the spring to work the farm. He
stayed in Ducktown and worked in the mines and came home on
weekends,According to my mother, RUBY JEWELL BEAVER.

I am looking for twins born in western
North Carolina in 1890. Love and Dove MUNDAY, male and female.
Love MUNDAY married Margaret JONES EARLY and settled in
Blueridge, Georgia. They had two sons Ed and Fred MUNDAY, not
twins. Love MUNDAY died February 4, 1935 and is buried in
Hollywood Cemetery, Atlanta, Georgia. Any and all information

Aaron PRICE was born ca. 1798, probably
in Lincoln County, NC, and married Ruth CALDWELL 8/17/1820 in
Lincoln County, NC. Aaron PRICE was the son of Richard PRICE born
1765 probably in New Hanover County, NC and died after 1850 in
Haywood County, NC. Aaron PRICE is listed in the 1830 Haywood
County, NC Census and by 1840 was in Polk County, TN where he
appears in the census. Aaron PRICE may have been the grandfather
of Wiley PRICE born 1850 mentioned in another query. The 1840
Polk Census indicates that Aaron PRICE had a son named George for
his brother. Aaron PRICE vanished from Polk County, TN after
1840. Any information about him will be greatly appreciated.

Would like to have any info on the
O'Kelley family, Ducktown/Copperhill, area. Since my parents
divorced when I was eight and my brother was five ,little if any,
contact with the O'Kelleys existed ! Here's what little I know.
I'm John Howard O'KELLEY Jr., my brother is Michael Hazen
O'KELLEY (57) His middle name came from "Coonie" HYATT.
My father's name was (of course) John Sr.. He was the youngest of
three "offspring", Frank (?) O'KELLEY, and Ann O'KELLEY
WALLACE , of Abner (Ab) Mell O'KELLEY and Allie RYMER O'KELLEY.
They, as far as I know, are taking the long "Dirt Nap"
! The last my mother heard of that side of my family was a letter
from Frank, retired and moved from St.Louis, area to some where
in Texas ? He had a son named Herschell. Ann, had a son named
Robert (Bob) WALLACE, a Methodist Minister,In the Va. area (?).
This "CLAN" of O'KELLEYS, came from White county
Ga.????? I almost forgot! My mothers name is MAXINE ARP O'KELLEY,
daughter of Ottis and Effie ARP, Copperhill.. My father and both

Looking for any information about a
Josiah Bowman listed on the 1840 census of Polk County. In 1850
this family had moved to Gordon County Georgia. There is also a
James A. Bowman listed on the 1840 census of Polk County. Would
like any information regarding a possible connection between
these two families. Josiah Bowman is my ggg grandfather and was

Early, THOMPSON descendents. Looking for
family of William J. or H. THOMPSON (also known as
"Billy"). Specifically: 1. "Unknown"
THOMPSON, born before 1788 in VA. Name could have begun w/ an H,
J or W. Marr. a woman from MD before 1806. Family moved to TN
before having a known child. Family might have already existed in
TN. 2. Known child-William J. or H. THOMPSON, born circa 1806 in
TN. Family trad. mentions Duck River or Duck Town, TN. He ended
up in MS before 1860 and possibly worked as a plantation overseer
in Marion Co.(Dillon area), SC before 1855. He marr. Catherine
"Kitty" JACKSON b. circa 1835-45), from Marion, around
1855-64. This family had many children in central-east MS
(including Shabuta). Note that William, according to the 1880 MS
Cens., was around 50 when he marr. a 19-ish year old Catherine.
He might have been widower and/or involved in an early war
