headed for Texas. They left 3 children with grandparents in TN. and brought 3
other children with them to Rusk Co., TX. James Reaves HAWKINS was one of the

Billy, shot & killed helping cousin. Body not taken to NC. Where buried?

I am seeking the relatives of Mary Ella KELLEY LEWIS born 6-8-1883 died
10-20-1971. She married Jessie Isiah LEWIS. They had the following children

Seeking info on the ancestors of my gg grandfather John Waters b. 1815 in
Polk, County TN. John married Mary (Polly) in about 1843 and had the following
children: Mary Jane b. 1844, Martha M. b. 1845, Harriet L. b.1847, William H. b.
1849, James H. b. 1850, Narcissus b. 1853, Samuel b. 1855, Ezekiel b. 1856, John
A. b. 1863. John is believed to have died between 1862 and 1870. Whether the
civil war was cause of his death is not known at this time. In any case Johns
wife Mary (Polly), is listed as widowed and blind in the 1870 census living with
James 19, Narcissus 17, Ezekiel 14, and John A. 7. Samuel (my g grandfather)
was not living with his mother in 1870 - - he could have been living with one of
his older sisters though?? Any information on this family would be appreciated.

My Jesse DODSON was the son of Jesse SR., an Indian Trader from
Hawkins/Grainger/Claiborne Co.TN in 1811. JR. is in Jackson Co. ALA in 1830 and

I am searching for the history of Ellen Josephine (RYMER) HUGHES who was
born in Polk County, November 5, 1865. She may be the daughter of Winnie and
William Rymer. She had brothers Wesley and William and Vaughn and a sister,

I am looking for any information on Joseph JOHNSON who was born about 1816
in Tennessee. He was listed in the 1860 census as living in Polk Co., TN. His
wife's name seems to have been Dicey. We don't know her maiden name. I believe
he was my husband's great-great grandfather. On this same census a Jacob W.
JOHNSON is living in same household and was probably my husband's grandfather. I
