MCGEE/MAGEE

My ancesters Lewis MAGEE / MCGEE born 1801 in GA/his son William born 1828 in Tenn. are shown to be from Tenn. on the 1850 Missouri Census. My grandmother told me that they were both married to full blooded Cherokee Indians. Lewis to "Rody" and William to "Jamie" as these marriages probably occured prior to any USA record keeping, I was wondering if possibly the Cherokee Nation/people may have made some records that might pertain to their wifes? What records exist, if any and how may I access them? Where can I find information regarding Mcgeetown, TN?

ELLEDGE

Searching for information about Isaac Elledge who was in Polk County in 1850 age 19. Anyone who can "connect" that Isaac with a parent will be appreciated. Descendants think he was one of the twins left orphans be a tornado either in Polk or Monroe or some nearby county in about 1832-35. Anyone know about a tornado that killed a whole family other than twins Joseph and Isaac any time during that time frame. Isaac supposedly was two years old when tornado killed family, so if his census birthdate is correct he was b. 1831 thus the 1833 approximate tornado year. Thanks. Cynthia Snider

I am looking for information regarding the William Patton family, born in 1805 in North Carolina. He is believed to have been born in Buncombe County, NC. He married a Barbara ? sometime in the late 1820's. I have reason to believe that William is the one listed in the 1840 Buncombe County Census page 141. William and Barbara had 5 children while living in NC.They were Lydia Ann born in 1829, Lucinda born in 1834, Thomas born in 1836, Catharine born in 1839, and Caroline born in 1841. This family moved to Union County GA and were in the 1850 census, household #81. They had a daughter,Sofrona, born in GA in 1847. In 1860 they were found across the river in Polk County TN. Thomas Patton married Mary Elizabeth Baker of Fannin County. Thomas died (1875) while working in the mines in TN and was buried in an unmarked grave in Douthet Cemetery in Fannin County. Mary is the daughter of Zachariah and Margaret Baker. Lydia Ann married a James Rider in Fannin County in 1855. Lucinda married a W. Hide.
