This Bible contains the family records of Samuel A. Daniel and Martha E. Duncan.  It was probably given to them for their marriage May 27, 1866 in Roane Co., Tenn.  The Bible also contains the records of Samuel's parents, Jeremiah Daniel and Elizabeth Ragains.  The Bible was given to Samuel's daughter, Tennessee (Tennie) Emma Daniel Wilson, who lived in Lenoir City.  When she died in 1935, it was sent to Samuel's youngest son, William E. Daniel, who was living in southern Idaho.  When William E. Daniel died, it was given to his youngest son, Samuel W. Daniel, who gave it to his daughter, Judith A. Daniels Player.

The Bible is black leather with an embossed pattern on the front cover.  It was published in New York by the American Bible Society in 1865.
