Know all men by these presents that for the consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars cash or its equivalent we M. J. Kilzer and wife Mary Kilzer have bargained & sold & do hereby convey unto C. C. West all of our undivided interest 111/4 acres of land in Madison County 16 Dist and our interest is same is a 1/3 interest in the 111/4 acres bounded and described as follows to wit: bounded on north J. T. Walker & Mrs. Bell, east by J. J. Davison, south by M. D. Fly, west by C. C. West and contains 111/4 acres more or less and known as E. R. West place and we sell only our one third undivided interest inherited by my wife Mary Kilzer from her sister Donie West deed.

To have and to hold the same to him the said C. C. West his heirs and assigns against all persons whomsoever. We covenant with C. C. West that we are lawfully seized & possessed of a one third undivided interest in the above described tract of land and have a good right to sell the same & we will warrant & forever defend the title to said interest that was inherited from Donie West and we have good right to make this deed & we bind ourselves our heirs to forever warrant & defend the title to same to him the said C. C. West against all persons claiming through or under us this Nov. 11,1908.

Mary Kilzer’s maiden name was West. She had inherited the property actually located in Madison County, but decided to sell it to one of her father’s brothers. The Kilzers moved to Crockett County from Madison County and lived there until her death in the 1930s.
