George	Rutledge	Sullivan	In 1947 my father, Hugh McClellan, registered me with the National Daughters of the American Revolution. The ancestral lineage given by him was as follows: General George Rutledge to his daughter, Jane Rutledge Anderson, to her daughter, Adeline Anderson McClellan, to her son, Samuel McClellan, to his son, Hugh McClellan, to his daughter, Margaret Adeline McClellan. George RUTLEDGE, who fought in the Revolutionary War at the Battle of Kings Mountain, was given as the DAR ancestor. The application was verified by the then national registrar, Lillian Curry, and given the number: 294031. The national number of the application to the DAR was 60281. The references cited by my father were: military record references Historic Sullivan, Oliver Taylor, Ramsey's Annals of Tennessee, Drapers' Kings Mountain and its heroes, State History of Tennessee, Goodspeed publishing company, Old bible records and documents of the Rutledge family (Margaret Adeline McClellan Orbach)
