Dover's Newest Attraction: Produce for Victory

“Produce for Victory,” a World War II Exhibit, will be in the W.D. Sykes Historical Museum until Labor Day. The museum is located between Church St. and Cedar St. in the Brandon/Sykes Showboat House. Parking is behind the house off of Cedar St.

The exhibit is free and open to the public from 10:00-5:00 Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday and 1:00-5:00 Sunday.

The rich heritage of Stewart County people is portrayed in artifacts, stories and photos. Docents offer interpretation and interesting tidbits.

On July 23 at 2:00 P.M., the Society will meet, along with the Houston County Historical Society, in the Stewart County Public Library, at the corner of Spring St. and Natcor Drive. Morris Futrell will present his "Flags Over America" program again. It is very impressive with 12 flags that have flown over our nation.
