This Indenture made & entered into this 31st day of January 1844 between David Garner Matilda Garner his wife, James Rose and Louana Rose his wife the two first of the County of Hardin and the State of Tennessee and the two last of the County of Wayne and state aforesaid of the one part and William White of the County of Hardin & State of Tennessee of the other part witnesseth that for & in consideration of the sum of fifty five dollars to us in hand paid by the said William white the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said David Garner & Matilda Garner his wife, James Rose and Louana E. Rose his wife have Given granted bargained aligned conveyed & Confirmed and by these presents do give grant bargain sell aligned convey and confirm unto the said William White his heirs and assigns forever all our and each of our interest rights title & Claim in & to a certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the county of Hardin and State of Tennessee on Indian Creek in range 12 and section four being part of a hundred & Sixty acre tract granted to James A. Williams in his life time containing by estimation Sixty acres and bounded as follows to wit ~

Beginning at a double dogwood standing 139 –3/6 poles west from the south end corner of said 160 acre survey tract thence north 95 poles to the north west corner of said 160 acre tract thence East 90 poles to an Iron wood thence South 116 poles to the beginning to have to hold all our & each of our interest right & title in the said described tact of land with all & singular the rights members & appertances there unto belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said William White and his heirs and assigns forever to his & their only proper use & behoof for ever and the said James Rose & Louana his wife David Garner & Matilda Garner his wife for themselves their heirs & administrators the right & title so far as they have conveyed and to the aforesaid described land unto the said William White his heirs & assigns they will warrant & forever defend against the claim of themselves their heirs executor administrators and assigns and against the claim of all persons Claiming by through from or under them but against the claim of no other person whatever. In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals the day & year first above written.
