The Tipton Co. 1850 census shows in Dist. #2 a JohnKNOX as head of
household with his wife Jeannetta 29, b TN; Emily J.12; Susan E. 9;
Harriet A 6; Clarinda MC FARLAND 58, b. S.C.;Fletcher MC FARLAND 30,
b. TN; Thomas D. MC FARLAND 22, b. TN. Thomas is my Great
grandfather. Thomas m. Mary Jane BASS 9 Oct 1850.Fletcher m. Helen
Geheen, 2 Oct 1850. By 1860 both brothers were inPulaski CO. AR,
Campbell Twsp, Pennington P.O. Thomas had 6 childrenbetween 6
mo(twins)& 9 years of age all b. in TN., also in thehousehold was
James Bass 78, b. TN. By the time they returned to TNin 1870 these
children were not with them. One boy R.N. b. 1862 cameback to TN.
with them. Family tradition says they were on the riverand lost
everything. Were they going to Ar. or returning to TN. whenthis
happened. What happened to the children? Fletcher did notreturn to

GLASS. Now seek information about SamuelGLASS, b. 1812 in
Tennessee--not sure where. His wife was eitherGrizann or Grisanna,

I am attempting to establish ties to a blood
relative, any bloodrelative, who may have served in the civil war to
qualify me formembership in the Sons of the Confederate Veterans.
This relativecould be on my paternal grandfather's side of the
family, Hendren, oron my paternal grandmother's side, Beloate. They
would have residedin Shelby, Tipton, or Dyer counties, most likely.
My grandfather'sname was Paul Vester Hendren. He died in Memphis in
1963 at 63 or 64years of age. My grandmother's name was Janie
Gertrude BeloateHendren and she died in approximately 1982 in her
mid-eigthies. I'mtruly sorry that I can't furnish anything more

If someone lives
in or near Covington, Tipton Co, TN, could you checkwith the local
library to see if they have copies of old newspapers. On Feb 11, 1890
John G. McBRIDE shot his brother-in-law, EphriamEvander McNAIR, 3
times with a revolver and killed him, John thenshot twice at his wife
and missed. I would love to find out if therewas an article written
about this incident. If one can be found Iwould pay the cost of

Tipton Co, TN. They built Red Bud Plantation (9,000 acres) in early
1830s in the area north of Mason to the Hatchie Bottoms, includingthe

I am just starting research on these
people and would appreciate anyhelp. Matthew ARMSTRONG b. abt. 1848,
his wife Margaret (?) both bornin Tn. They lived in Ark. for a while
as that is where severalchildren were born. I need her maiden name

concerning my grandfather, LEE EATHER NATHANIALFRANKLIN CARROLL, or
ETHER NATHANIAL CARROLL, whose father was FRANKCARROLL...don't know
ggrandmother's name. His siblings were JAMES,DAVE, AUDIE, MOLLIE,
ADA, SARAH, JOSIE and ELIZABETH. He marriedMADIE GUILLIAMS of
Chester County. He was born October 9, 1877. Would appreciate

Searching for the families of Edna & Emma MISENHEIMER,
daughters ofJohn Wilson {son of Jacob & Esther SLOUGH MISENHEIMER}
and SarahFrances CRYER {daughter of Louisa
RAINS-MILLER-YARBROUGH}MISENHEIMER. Edna & Emma both born in Tipton
County Tn. in the late1880's and were living in Memphis Tn. in the
1940's. They marriedinto the MALEY & McCluskey families. Their
brother, Levey GillispieMISENHEIMER , my great-grandfather, married
Mary Kathryn SMITH{daughter of William & Henrietta ROANE SMITH of
Tipton County} Leveymoved to Kentucky in 1913. Any info on the

information on the David GAGE family. Father's name: Reuben
GAGE. Mother's name is Abigail BURLESONGAGE. Son's name was
William, with a birth date of 11 Sept 1826and birth place was Tipton
Co. TN. Any information on any membersof this family would
