J. W. Link, better known as Dock, was a son of Jacob Link. J. W. Link was born February 28, 1843. He married Miss Mary C. White February 6, 1856. Their union was blessed with seven children, to-wit: Willie E. Link, born August 17, 1867; Addie R. Link, born January 24, 1870; Caploria Link, born July 7, 1872; Luther S. Link, born December 2, 1874; Lura May Link, born June 6, 1877; Bessie A. Link, born February 7, 1881; Leo Link, born November 10, 1884.

Mr. J. W. Link was a good man and a Mason. His membership was Cherry Mound Lodge No. 227 F. & A. M. He spent most of his life in the fifteenth district of Sumner County; moved to Portland, Tenn., a few years before his died. He departed this life April 24, 1924, at the ripe old age of 81 years.

Addie Link, daughter of J. W. Link, was married to John R. Jones November 10, 1885. To them four children were born. The eldest, Luther E. Jones, born September 20, 1886; Charlie Elba Jones, born September 4, 1888; Bessie M. Jones, born April 11, 1892; Mary J. Jones, born June 26, 1895.

Elba Jones married Miss Ruth Staggs December 25, 1911. They had two boys, Wilburee, born October 6, 1912, and Howard, born September 17, 1914. Elba Jones died October 26, 1915. The boys and their mother are living with Mrs. Obe Staggs and Henry, her brother, near Portland.

Mary Jones, daughter of Addie Link Jones, died March 10, 1913.

Bessie M. Jones, daughter of Addie Link Jones, was married to William Hester December 24, 1914. They had two boys, William Hester, Jr., age 13 years: Donald J. Hester, age 9 years.

Mrs. May Link Wilkinson, daughter of J. W. (Dock) Link, was born June 6, 1877; married Chas. E. Wilkinson December 6th, 1893; to their union were born four children, as follows: Ollie Wilkinson, age 33 years. He is married and has one child, a boy; Litea Wilkinson, age 31 years, she is married, lives in West Tennessee and has two children.

Dewey Wilkinson, age 20.

Mrs. May Wilkinson's husband is in the milling business at White House, Tenn.

Captoria Link, daughter of J. W. Link, first married Bobbie Johnson. He was either conductor or express agent on a train and was putting a negro shot him and killed him. He lived long enough to kill the negro.

Some time after Mr. Johnson's death Mrs. Captoria Johnson married Londren Jones, December 27, 1900. To them four children were born, namely: Zulia, Roy, Nell and Ivy, Zula married Mr. Stilwell. They have one child. Zula died July 4, 1920, in Oklahoma. Captoria Link Johnson is also dead. She died in Oklahoma. Mr. Jones and the other children live out there.

Luther W. better known as Bud Link, son of J. W. Link, married Jessie Martin March 6, 1892. They have three children, to-wit: Lola May, Elmer and Louise. Bud's oldest daughter, Lela May, married Rev. E. D. Troutt. They have one child. Bud was in Vicksburg, Miss., some time back.

Leo Link, son of J. W. Link, married Miss Vera Carter December 24, 1906. They have two children, Edna and Virginia Link. Edna married J. E. Montgomery, of Nashville, Tenn. They have one child, named Betty. Leo and family are living at Lawrenceburg, Tenn.

Bessie Link married J. M. Patton, January 3, 1904. They have two children, Glady M. Patton and Wayne Patton.

David Link, son of Wm. Link and brother of Jacob and Wm. Link, Jr. must have been born about 1800, according to the date of his Brother Jacob's birth. He was born in Virginia. There is no data as to just when he came to Tennessee. His father came to Tennessee in 1828, his brother came in 1832; there is nothing to show when David came or who he married. To this union were born eight children, to-wit: Levi Link, Thomas W. Link, R. H. Link, John H. Link, S. B. Link, Mollie Waggoner Link, Tisher Link Groves, Low Link Jackson. From the best information I can get, I am led to believe David Link was buried in Davidson County, Tenn.

Letitia Link, daughter of David Link, was born February 25, 1842. She married A. B. Groves September 8, 1864. They were blessed with two children, a girl and one boy. Annie B. Groves, daughter of Letitia Link Groves, was born July 9, 1865. The son, Chas. A. Groves, was born April 15, 1876. Mrs. Letitia Link Groves died March 9, 1900. Her daughter, Miss Annie B. Groves, died November 22, 1921. Charles Groves is living at Portland, Tenn. He was town marshal of Portland, Tenn., for a number of years and has been deputy sheriff for a number of years. He has made good in his official capacity and had many warm friends.

Mollie Link, daughter of David Link. She married a Mr. Waggoner of Nashville. From the best information I can get, she had two children, one boy and one girl. Her son, Stanford Waggoner, of Nashville, Tenn., and a daughter, Anna Waggoner. I was unable to get any information regarding them. Mollie died about 1900.

T. W. Link, son of David Link, was born December 12, 1835. He married Miss Nancye E. Perdue March 11, 1853. To them were born seven children, two boys, J. H. Link and R. T. W. Link, and 5 girls, T. E. Link, Flora N. Link, Sarah Jane Link, Alice Link and Minnie Link. His wife, Nancye Link, died with measles May 7, 1884, at the age of 49 years. After a number of years, Mr. Link married Mrs. Clarinda Cook, who is living now. Mr. Link served in the War Between the States until he was wounded in the knee and was a cripple the remainder of his life. He died March 15, 1910, at the age of seventy-five years.

John Henry Link, son of T. W. Link, was born November 3, 1859; was married to Miss Alice Jackson January 19, 1890. To this union were born two girls, Cora Link and Lena Link. Mrs. Alice Link died. John Henry is living. His eldest daughter, Cora, was born May 26, 1891; was married to Ernest Summers April 26, 1915. To them were born three children, Rubie, aged 16 years, Alice, aged 13, and one dead. Cora died March 26, 1929. Lena Link was born July 4, 1902, was married to Jesse Summers December 14, 1919. They are both living. Her husband is in the mercantile business on old Gallatin road six miles S. W. of Portland, Tenn.

T. E. F. Link, daughter of T. W. Link, was born July 15, 1862. She married S. J. Rodgers, September 12, 1879. To whom were born ten children, eight of whom are living. Henry was the oldest boy. He was born November 9, 1882. He married a Miss Lizzie Legge and they have twelve children and eight grandchildren living.

Lovie Rodgers Hester was born September 17, 1880. She married Walter Hester. They have two children, Tommie and Burna. Both are married and have several children.

Lee Rodgers was born November 11, 1884, and married Miss. Wallace. They have twelve children and several grandchildren. Ivy Rogers Pool was born May 29, 1888, and married A. J. Pool. They have seven children.

Leonard Rodgers was born August 25, 1893; married Miss. Luten. They have three children.

Wesley Rodgers was born July 28, 1895 and married Miss Nannie Williamson. They have four children.

Ivy Rodgers Lamberth was born May 2, 1895 and married Roscoe Lamberth. They have children. William Rodgers was born August, 1900; was married to Miss Tarrence. They only have two children, but let us hope for the best; they are yet young.

Odell Rodgers was born August 23, 1903 and married Miss Genie Harden. They have two children, but like his brother William, he is young.

Mr. S. J. Rodgers is living. He is seventy-four years of age, has forty-seven grandchildren living and several dead, and has about fifteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. T. E. Rodgers died May 1st, 1909.

R. T. W. Link, son of T. W. Link, was born May 22, 1864; was married three times. He first married Miss Alice Thompson. She died June 4, 1905. He than married Miss Mary Dori. She died November 12, 1913. After a few years he married Mrs. Oma Pond, widow of Lee Pond. He died December 17, 1928; age 67 years, 6 months and 27 days. His last wife survived him and is married again.

Flora Link Thompson was born January 18, 1866; married Morgan Thompson December 9, 1884. To them were born four children, one girl and three boys.

Eva Thompson was born May 17, 1886. She married Andrew Pool in 1907. They had one child, a boy, Onie Pool. Eva died April 14, 1909.

Gilford Thompson was born December 9, 1887. He married Miss Myrtle Pitt. They have four children.

Brown Thompson was born April 14, 1890. He married Miss Reubie Link. They had one child.

Jack Thompson was born March 28, 1893. He married Miss Lela George. They have two children.

Mrs. Flora Thompson died June 18, 1927; is buried at Halltown cemetery.

Sarah J. Link, daughter of T. W. and Nancy Link was born August 27, 1870. She married William Walls about 1900. To that union were born two children, a girl and a boy. They live in Nashville, Tenn. Sarah J. is dead. She is buried at the Link burying ground on her father's old place.

M. A. Link, daughter of T. W. and Nancy Link, was born July 15, 1882. She married S. P. Garrison. Her husband, Mr. Garrison, is dead and Mrs. M. A. Garrison lives at Portland, Tenn.

Minnie L. Link, daughter of T. W. and Nancye Link, was born May 5, 1875. She married Gale Johnson and to their union was born one child, a girl named Gertrude. Minnie died from tuberculosis soon after the birth of her child. Gertrude's aunt raised her. She married young and is dead. Minnie L. Link Johnson died April 19, 1901.

R. H. Link was born at the old David Link home on July 26th, 1839. He was married to Sarah Jane Jackson, a native of Sumner County, on December 14th, 1865. To this union five children were born: Jackson Crockett, on August 1st, 1866, he died in childhood, and was buried at the Jackson burying ground on the Brick Church Pike in Davidson County. Marshall Edwin Link was born February 25th, 1869. After finishing the public schools, he entered Vanderbilt University, from which he graduated with the M. D. degree in 1899. He started to practice his chosen profession in March of the same year, locating at Crocker's Springs, in the 10th District of Davidson County, Tenn., where he has continued to practice up to the present time, with the exception of the years 1911 and 1912, when he had charge of the Davidson County Tuberculosis Hospital as Superintendent. He was married to Maggie T. Clark on December 30th, 1904. To this union three children have been born, all boys. Marshall, the oldest, after completing high school, and one year at Vanderbilt, entered the employ of the N. & C. Railroad, in the rate department, where he is still employed. Joseph B. and William Clark are still in school. All the family are members of the Methodist Church.

M. E. Link was elected as member of the House of Representatives of this state in 1911 and 1913, served as member of the County Board of Health of Davidson County for a number of years, at present is a member of the County Court of Davidson County.

Ewing T. Link was born April 8th, 1878. Leaving home early in life, he soon started to work for the railroad, and in a short time was promoted to Pullman conductor, which position he held to the time of his death, in 1921. He was married to Irene ?, October 26th, 1910. To this union two children were born, Edna and Evelyn. After Ewing's death in 1921, in St. Louis, at which place he was buried, his wife and children moved to New York, where the girls graduated and are teaching in the city schools.

Robbie C. Link was born January 17th, 1884. When he was less than two years old, his mother died. At this time he was placed with his aunt, Mrs. Martha Griffin, at Cottontown, at which place he remained until he graduated from high school. He then took a business course at Falls College. After completing his course, he entered the employment of the Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis Railway, where soon became the assistant to the General Freight Agent, were he remained 17 years. During the world war he had charge of the Nashville zone of direct freight routing. After leaving the railroad he went in business with G. I. Frazier Hardwood and Staves Co., of Memphis, Tenn., and is still with the firm.

He was married to Hazel Mushon, April 18th, 1906. To this union two children were born. Virginia, after completing high school entered the Northwestern University at Memphis; after spending years at Northwestern, she went to the University of Ca(unable to read), where she graduated this year. Paul, the youngest, is now attending school at Memphis.

R. H. Link was married the second time December 2nd, 1912. To this union one child was born, Harold D. November 21, 1913. Harold is now in high school at Salmon, Ky. where his parents live.

Sarah Jane Link died June 11th, 1887. Age 43.

Nancy Ann Link, second wife of R. H. Link died November 25, 1919, aged 47.

Archie Link, son of R. H. Link, was born December 11, 1872. He married Ida Link January 15, 1902. To their union two children were born, one boy and one girl.

Clifton Link, son of Archie Link was born January 21, 1903.

Ethel, daughter of Archie Link, was born April 16, 1904. She married Marvin McGlothlin, August 5, 1919. They have one child.

Archie Link died February 7, 1905, and is buried at the so-called Tom Link burying ground. His widow, Ida Link, is living. Her son, Clifton, lives with her.
