AUDIE DICKERSON'S GIRL PARTY
Pictured in 1934 in the John Dickerson yard at Pleasant Shade is a party that was sponsored by Audie
Dickerson. It was common at this time for young ladies to have a "girl party" and "accidentally"
spread the word in hope that it would attract the boys. This was the case for this girl party
and it was "crashed" by at least four of the local boys as demonstrated by the picture.

L-r: Maicee Oldham, Mildred Porter, Luzell Kittrell (mostly hidden) Audie and Milton Dickerson
(siblings), Webb Duke, behind Milton, Geneva Oldham (first cousin once removed to the Dickersons) Gerald
Kittrell (brother to Luzell), Virginia Smith and Rubin McCall

Later, Maicee became Mrs. Everett (Pistol) Beasley; Mildred married Hugh Green, who later
became a longtime Carthage physician; Luzell married Kendred Oldham, brother to Maicee;
Webb first married Wynell Whitley and later married someone else. From the later marriage,
he became the father of present Carthage doctor, Roger Duke. Audie died the next year and
Milton (Monk) married Ogeal Wilmore Gregory.
Other pictures of Audie may be viewed on this website under " The John Dickerson Family".
