I am researching my great grandfather's family. His name was Francis Corn Wallace OWEN, born in Denmark, Madison Co., Tennessee on 6 May 1822, son of Jesse OWEN and Nancy BRAY. Siblings were: William, Jesse, John, Susan, Lauren, and Agnes OWEN. Francis (Frank) moved to Missouri with his father in 1834 and settled on the Gasconade River in Osage Co., Missouri. Frank married Elizabeth Jane BRANSON. He died in Rolla, Phelps Co., Missouri on 7 Jan 1910. The town of Owensville, Missouri was named after him, the decision of the town's name being the outcome of a horseshoe match! I don't know what happened to the rest of his family--siblings or mother--as the information I have only states he and his father came to Missouri. I would be interested in corresponding with anyone doing research on the OWEN family. Sally Lyons McAlear SallyMcAlear@MissouriState.edu

Dr. Francis R. DALLAM was born in 1790 in MD. He was in Hopkinsville, Christian County, KY, then practiced medicine in Mayfield, Graves County, KY. He was still in Mayfield in 1850. A letter to Mary Cassandra Taylor in Texas, dated March 2, 1866, indicated he was then living in Madison County, TN. He had a daughter, Sallie, who married Cong. A.R. Boone of Graves Co, KY, and a son named John. A move to Madison Co after he was passed the age of 60 suggests to me other family members may have moved to Madison County. I'm interested in connecting with anyone researching the family of Francis R. DALLAM. Marilyn Brien, 128 Linda Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78216 (e-mail: email@example.com)

I am trying to locate members of the Albert and Martha French family or Barret Barber also. Martha and ALbert were both born in Perry county in the 1860s and married in 1880. Their oldest daughter, Rebecca Melissa (Lissie) French, married a Barrett Barber and both farming families relocated to Madison Co. by 1910 where they appear on the 1910 census. Martha and Albert had nine children that I have documented. Barrett Barber was born around 1883 but I am not sure he was born in Perry Co. He is listed as having two older daughters, Hester and Hattie, before marrying Lissie. They had a son, Joseph Lee, in Linden in March 1903 before moving to Madison Co.
