SADLER, SMITH, WATTS, WILLIAMSON

I'm looking for someone that might be interested in some priceless family documents that I found in an antique Edison Phonograph some time ago. The documents consist of a 200 acre land grant dated 1838 and signed by Henry Sadler. Located with this was also a 4 acre deed dated 1872. This property is signed over to Tom Watts from Thomas and Elizabeth Smith. The property is located in Jefferson County, Arkansas. The document that might tie all of this together, is a group life Insurance policy for Martha L. Williamson with her mother, Tilla W. Williamson as the beneficiary. If anyone out there is interested in these documents, feel free to email me and I can send you digital files of the actual documents. They are really quite fascinating. Regards, Randy Hawke

KEITH, KEETH, KEATH

I, among many other KEITH family researchers are looking for ANY information that can possibly link the South Carolina KEITH families to the Kentucky/Virginia Keith families that moved into the Jackson County area between 1790 and 1820. Although there seemed be an effort in 1850 to distinguish one from the other with different name spelling, I believe there may be a common connection in Virginia before and after the Revolutionary War. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

I have available the entire John B. Keith (b. 1825) line up to present day if interested. ANY positive link between John B. Keith and his father and/or mother would be of GREAT help to a lot of us. Thanks in advance for any help.

CHAFFIN

My grandfather (HC, son of Robert CHAFFIN, son of Harvey Chaffin) told me that Harvey Chaffin's father was John. (My grandfather proved right in every small detail which he gave me, and this was twenty years before PC's or on-line research, so I cannot throw it out until someone can give me some solid proof that it is otherwise.) Anyway, he could not remember his gggrandmother's name (John's wife), and he told me to get in touch with Oakley Chaffin and that he would know. Unfortunately, this was over 20 years ago. Does anyone know who Oakley Chaffin is and whether or not I can reach him? If you do, please contact me. Thank you so much!

MARTIN, BYERS, HARLEY

Hello I am trying to find any info on Ardelia BYERS and her 1st husband WILLIAM MARTIN they had one child Nancy born abt. 1870. in the 1870 census Ardelia is living with her brother Andrew BYERS and there is no mention of William and can not find him anywhere near where she is residing. Sometime before 1880 she married Absolom HARLEY and her daughter Nancy is listed as 10 and is listed as step-daughter to Abosolm. Nancy on 4-14-1885 in Gainesville, MO had a child named Harvey Brantley MARTIN (he is my great grandfather)there is no mention of a father and in the 1900 census he is listed with Absolom and Ardelia with no mention of his mother. At some point either officially or unofficially he took the last name Harley as that is how his SSA lists him and it also lists his parents as Ab Harley and Ardelia Byers. Our family never even knew that his last name should have been Martin until I got into genealogy. Could William be Calvin and Elizabeth Martin's son? Any help would be great! Thanks!

CHAFFIN, CHAFEN, GREGORY

Harvey (H.C.) CHAFFIN (CHAFEN) married (on February 16, 1866) Julia Ann GREGORY. Harvey (read as Harvy and Harry by some transcribers): born 11-14-1846 in Jackson County, died Dec. 10, 1915 in Smith County. Julia Ann Gregory Chaffin (also signed as Julie and July Ann): born 8-25-1846, died 9-5-1909 in Smith County. Both are buried in Monoville at the Piper/Hines Cemetery. Both people are huge obstacles in my research. I am beginning to think that Julia Ann may have been married to a Gregory before she married Harvey; or she may have come from some place other than Tennessee. She is not the Julia Ann Gregory born to Pitts Gregory. Please help, if you can!
