WALKER, THORNTON, MYATT, BRAZZELL, HARTLEY, MCGILL, MCMURRAY, MCMILLAN

Elijah WALKER b 1802 GA, married (1) Matilda McMURRY and (2) Mary"Polly" McMILLAN. They are found primarily in Dickson Co (thooccasionally in a surrounding co) after around 1805. I would like to explore the possible relationship of MatildaMcMURRAY to William McMURRAY and Thomas McMURRAY - both in earlyDickson Co TN history. I would also like to discover which of themany WALKER families in the area Elijah was kin to. Elijah had several siblings, among them were Mary (b ca 1790 - 1800GA) who married George BRAZZELL and Elizabeth (b ca 1790 - 1800 GA)who married James HARTLEY. The BRAZZELL family stayed in Dickson Co.The HARTLEY family moved to Bond Co IL, where Elizabeth died - thenthe remainder of the HARTLEYS moved on to Cedar Co MO. Several things make me suspect a relationship with MYATT, CLARK,and ROBERTSON.

MORRIS

My great grandmother was Susan MORRIS born April 10, 1942. She had at least one sister, Mary Jane, born in 1944. She was half Chickasaw. Her parents were Wiley Morris born 1917 and Louisa (Chickasaw)born 1818. I know little more about either's background. In the 1850 census, she, Wiley and Susan are listed in Hickman Co. TN. By 1860 they were in Graves Co. KY. I know Wiley had a sister, Nancy Morris, who was married Jeremiah Bateman in Dickson Co. and they lived in Humphreys Co. in 1850. If anyone has any information about Louisa or Susan, I'd be greatful. I know it's a long shot but I'd love to trace this part of my heritage. thanks.

WHITE, MELTON

Who are the parents??? Mack Donald WHITE was born June 6, 1868, most likely in northern Giles Co, TN. He relocated to Greenville, Hunt Co., TX in the early 1890s, where he married Florence Edna MELTON October 11, 1896. He may have had a brother William and sister Lucy in the Greenville area. He may have had a sister Mattie back in the Campbell's Station area of Giles Co. A letter to him from his mother mailed from Culleoka, Maury Co, TN in 1910 lists her as N.J. White, although the N. may be another letter. Mack White moved his family to Woodlawn, Harrison Co., TX, where he died and is buried. He had children James Rome (died small child), Lena Estella, Ida Mae, Marvin Davis, Elmer Brodine, and Jessie Laura (died infant).

MCCLAIN

One of my ancestors was supposed to have started the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Dickson, in the 1800's I presume. My great- great-grandfather was one of his descendants - Felix McClain of Lewis County. Please let me know if you have records of this man who was supposed to be instrumental in the beginning of that church. Thanks

OLIVER, MURRELL, HOLLOWAY

I am searching for relatives of THEODORICK OLIVER. He was born 1799 in TN or VA. He died between 1852-1854, in Natchitoches Parish, LA. Living in Perry County, AL, near to THEODORICK OLIVER is the family of THOMAS M. OLIVER (b:1796) and wife LUCINDA. Thomas was son of WILLIAM OLIVER. Thomas had the following known children: EMILY T. OLIVER (b: 1817 Dickson County, TN) and THOMAS A. J. OLIVER (b: 27 Nov. 1825 Marion, AL). All of this family is buried in the Marion, Alabama. Also buried is MURRELL W. OLIVER (b: 1 July 1815 in Dickson County, TN. Probably oldest child of THOMAS M. OLIVER. Known is that there is a THOMAS MURRELL, SR. (b: abt. 1747 in Virginia; d: 1826 in Dickson County, TN). His paternal Grandmother was ELIZABETH OLIVER. Is MURRELL W. OLIVER the child of THOMAS M. OLIVER? Did MURRELL W. OLIVER'S given name come from the MURRELL family due to a familial relationship? What relation is THEODORICK OLIVER to the family of WILLIAM OLIVER/THOMAS M. OLIVER/MURRELL W. OLIVER?

Lemuel Bruce married Permelia England. He was from NC, supposedly came and lived in TN a while before bringing his family. I believe him to be born early 1800's. One son was Silas Bruce, who married Kesiah Leathers in 1857. Can anyone tell me anything about Lemuel? Thank you for your help.
