Tennessee State Library and Archives, Prison Records, Volume 83-87, RG 25. Microfilm No. 32. William SPARKS from Anderson County. Received NOv 25th 1839. Offence: Petit Larceny. Sentence: 15 months. He is 35 years old, weighs 141 pounds, 5 feet 9 inches high. Born in North Carolina, Bro't up in Tennessee, Claiborne County. He has a wife and 5 Children Living in the above Named County 8 Miles West of Tazwell on the Land of Timothy Narvell. Said SPARKS has Dark hair, Black Eyes, Dark Skin.
