Looking for William L. Flowers b. 1866 married Margaret M. Ogle in Cooke Co TX in 1888. They are in Benton Co TN. n 1900 and 1910. They had the following children: Lillie, Willima, Minnie, Bessie, Bertha and Martin.

Researching the SMOTHERS families out of Orange Co., North Carolina, that settled and lived in middle Tennessee circa 1795-1880. Most settled near the Kentucky line (Walker's line) in what was then eastern Sumner Co. and western Smith Co., TN, and is now western Macon Co., TN. They lived along or near the Ridge, Goose Creek, Trammel Creek, etc., near present day Eulia and Siloam in western Macon County. Families living in that area circa 1800-1850 include those William and Nancy Smothers, James and Margaret (Summers) Smothers, Edmond and Catherine Smothers, Eli and Margaret (Pyles) Smothers, Elihu and Mary (Jacob) Smothers, Hiram and Sally (Rhodes) Smothers, and John and Elizabeth (Davis) Smothers, to name a few. Their Smothers sons/daughters/brothers/sisters are known to have married in Sumner County into the following lines : ANGLEA, BARBER, COOK, DAVIS, FAGG, HAMMACK, HATCHETT, HUNT, JACOBS, LINDSEY, POWELL, PYLES, RUMLEY, SMOTHERS, STINSON, SUMMERS, VAUGHN, WIGGINGTON, and WHITE. By 1855, most of these SMOTHERS families moved on to other parts of Tennesse (Benton & Carroll County for example) and/or to southern Illinois, Missouri, and Arkansas.

A number of NC residents moved to Benton County in the mid 1800's because of the drought in the NC area and the subsequent effect on the farmers. The TN valley had peanuts. Several members of my family (Stier, Stiers) in NC moved to Benton along with some of their inlaws. However, there is little information on what they did in Benton and where they moved afterward. Specific names are Allen B. Stier, Norman Stier, Cornelius Stier, and Richard Jarrell. I have census data and some local history (Goodspeed). William COUGHRAN (Father) or William Wesley COUGHRAN (Son). William COUGHRAN married a Margaret HENDERSON. I believe it may have been in Benton County, Tenn.

I have traced my line to one Benjamin Davidson (born about 1826), but i am unsure if he is a son to Abraham Davidson and brother to Travis. the information i have is that benjamin married Margret S. Cook 20. aug 1862. and by 1875 they moved to long prairie, missouri. it also appears that benjamin died (divorced) at about the same time (between 1870-1880?) Their children are Walter Scott, Mary Victoria, Virginia (jennie), and Ada. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,

I am looking for the father and mother of GEORGE T.GARRETT.He was born in camden,tennessee on May 15,1860.George married Lucy I.(BROWN)GARRETT.She was born october 19,1872.I'm not for sure where she came from.She died on March 10,1948.She also married a man named or I should say his last name was ROME. George GARRETT died on July 28,1932.If any one should know of the GARRETT family or have some sort of records on them,that would really be great.Thanks,Tammy BEARD.
