| The William
Martin Cemetery is located in Cato on the farm of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Craighead
at 170 Scanty Branch Road. The cemetery is in the center of a field
across the road from their house. Col. William Martin was a Revolutionary
Soldier and his above ground crypt is DAR marked.
William Martin is
listed in Smith County Tennessee Cemeteries-North of the Cumberland
River, page 104.
Crypts of Col. William Martin, 26 Nov 1765 - 4 Nov 1846, and
wife Frances Ferriss Martin, 30 June 1770 - 27 July 1831.
