I am researching the Holmes family that was in Perry Co., TN in the 1820,30 and 40 census. Many of them then migrated to Van Buren and Pope Counties, AR. James Holmes was b. 1768 in SC. He applied for a REV pension from Perry, but since he was so young, he was turned down, though he had rec'd bounty land. His father was William Holmes. My line descends through James, Jr. It is possible they intermarried with the DENTON family. I would like to get in touch with others working on this line.

Inks,Jane (Jennie) Searching for info on Jane Inks. (born1795?died? in Cherrokee Co.,Texas.) She married Samuel Tipton on Sept.1,1815 somewhere in Tenn. Some of their children were born in Blount Co. Tenn. They moved to Georgia in the 1830's, then on to Texas in 1850-55. Strong family tradition said she was an Indian. We believe she was Cherokee. Does anyone know anything about her. Am searching for information on my GGrandfather and GGrandmother, JOHN WESLEY FURGERSON (maybe Ferguson, Fergerson, etc.) and MAHULDIA BRUCE FURGERSON. According to Hopkins Co. Ky census records, they were born in Tennessee and their 5th child was born there in 1851. They were in Kentucky by 1854. They had 5 child- ren born in Grundy county: on the 1880 census William J was 14, James T. was 12, Hiram was 8, Izora Billey,4, and John,2. I am particularly interested in Gemima. Seeking information on Fielding McDaniel and/or his wife, Nancy (McClure) McDaniel, especially in the period 1820-1840. Nancy is believed to be a mixed-blood Cherokee descendent born in Harrison Co., KY ca 1813. Census information reportedly indicates both Fielding and Nancy were in TN in 1830, and familly had arrived IN/IL/MO area by 1840, MO in 1850, but back in Grant Co., KY by 1860. We are trying to put together a very complicated puzzle of related persons moving out of the traditional Cherokee homeland in SW VA/NC/TN/GA area to ARK/MO/OK under pre-Trail of Tears circumstances. Related individuals include James and "Hannah" McClure, Nancy's parents (married ca 1795); Susan A. McDaniel, their daughter; and possibly Samuel, James & John McClure (believed to be related, but manner unknown) who later appear in Murray Co., GA. KENNEDY. Seeking information on CENUS HARDY KENNEDY, born Feb. 25, 1870. He was orphaned by the time he was 10 years old. He was raised by a preacher (believed to be Baptist) named JAMES HALL in Scotts Hill, TN. He had a brother, believed older, SAM KENNEDY, who moved to Texas. Also had a half-sister, CORDIE BELSAR, who moved to Kentucky. It is also believed that he had some older half-brothers. His mother was part Indian.
