Joshua WYATT was born the 26th of May 1777 in Chowan County, North Carolina to Joshua WYATT and Elizabeth SCRIMPSHIRE - the family moved to Orange County, North Carolina sometime after 1790 - it is here Joshua married Susannah KING the 28th of April 1804. Joshua moved his family to Sumner County around 1821 - settling on land 5 or 6 miles from the Kentucky border. Susannah WYATT died before 1850 and Joshua went to live with his daughter Harriet and her husband Daniel PERDUE - while here Joshua met his second wife Irene MORGAN - fifty years his junior - they married the 26th of May 1853 in Sumner County - Joshua died the 6th of October 1853 in Sumner County. The estate was sued by Joshua's neice Mary WYATT PERDUE in an attempt to recover money entrusted to Joshua from James KING - the father of Mary - for her use after she came "of age".
