William J. Hale - 1st Lt. Made Adjutant on April 3, 1862. Made Lt. Col. on December 20, 1862. Detailed as Conscript Officer. In battles at Manassas, Shiloh, Shelton House, Farmington, Richmond, Perryville, Murfreesboro, Chickamauga, Ringgold Gap, Dalton Peachtree Creek and Atlanta. Wounded at Chickamauga by a spent ball. Wounded and captured at Peachtree Creek, Ga., July 19, 1864. Sent to Johnson's Island, Ohio. Paroled at Johnson's Island in August 1865.

Edwin R. Cryer - 2nd Lt. 1st Lt. April 3, 1862. Killed at Shiloh on April 6, 1862.

Golman D. Brevard - 3rd Lt. 2nd Lt. May 14, 1862. Resigned and enlisted in Co. B, 7th Tennessee Cavalry Battalion, later 2nd or 22nd Cavalry, see also.

Charles P. Moore - 1st Sgt. Capt. April 3, 1862, replacing Capt. Henry. Killed at Murfreesboro on Dec. 31, 1862.

Allen W. Lipscomb - 3rd Sgt. Trans. to Co. G, 2nd Tennessee Cavalry where he became 2nd Lt. June 13, 1862. Was captured at Corinth, Miss., on Aug. 19, 1862.

Pleas G. C. Henry - 4th Sgt. Trans. to Day's unlettered company of the 44th Tennessee Infantry and was killed at Shiloh, Tenn.. April 6, 1862.

Gilbert L. Siddons - 1st Corp. Trans. to Co. G, 2nd or 22nd Tennessee Cavalry June 15, 1862.

John W. Hoffman - Shown present thru March 1, 1864.

Alexander C. Hogan - 3rd Corp. Trans. to Co. I, 9th Tennessee Cavalry and was captured at Salineville, Ohio on July 26, 1863, and sent to Camp Chase, Ohio and then to Camp Douglas, IL.

Moses W. Morris - 4th Corp. On detached service as Forage Master then as Wagon Master. Wounded at Richmond, Ky., August 30, 1862. Deserted May 1, 1864.

Adams, James B. - Discharged on disability Nov. 21, 1862. Captured as a deserter by U.S. forces in Macon County on Nov. 30, 1863. Sent to Camp Chase, Ohio.

Adams, Marcus W. - 3rd Lt. Jan. 12, 1863. Then 1st Lt. Re-enlisted on Feb. 6, 1862.

Adams, William H. - Corp. April 1, 1862. 3rd Lt. Dec. 23, 1862. 1st Lt. on Jan. 12, 1863. On detached service as Conscript Officer on January 31, 1863.

Anderson, William C. - Discharged on disability at Tupelo, Miss. Enlisted in Day's unlettered company of the 44th Tennessee Infantry on April 3, 1862. Captured just before Lee's surrender. Escaped and remained hidden to end of war.

Andrews, Samuel D. - Regimental carpenter. Trans. to Co. E, 7th Battalion of Tennessee Cavalry, also see.

Avarett, John H. - Corp. Deserted on Feb. 16, 1864. Debtor for Accouterments.

Avaritt, Edwin W. - Enlisted on April 25, 1861, at Hartsville. Wounded in right foot and ankle at Shiloh, April 7, 1862, just at end of battle. Shown present through April 1864. Paroled at Decatur, Alabama in 1865.

Ball, James A. - Sgt. on April 1, 1862. Wounded at Richmond, Ky., August 30, 1862. Died from wound, Sept. 1, 1862.

Bancum, T. J. - Paroled in N. C. May 1, 1865.

Barksdale, Albert G. - 1st Lt on May 1, 1862. Killed at Richmond, Ky., on Aug. 30, 1862.

Barksdale, Wm H. - 1st Lt. then Capt then drill master on Oct. 5, 1861. Made Color bearer. In battle of Bull Run, Va. Sent home for clothing in Oct. 1861. Enlisted in Co. G, 9th Tennessee Cavalry, see also.

Bennett, William F. - Trans. to Day's unlettered company, 44th Tennessee Infantry, April 3, 1862.

Bettersworth, Eugene H. - Wounded at Perryville, Ky., Oct. 8, 1862. Shell struck lock of gun and exploded. Blinded in both eyes. Captured and in U.S. hospital at Harrodsburg, Ky. Exchanged at Vicksburg, Miss., Dec. 5, 1862. Discharged from disability at Tullahoma, Tenn.

Boington, John W. -Left sick at Fredericksburg, Va., when the regiment returned to Tennessee. Rejoined regiment. Discharged on disability March 27, 1863.

Brookshear, Willis - Deserted at Tunnel Hill, Ga. Debtor for accouterments, five caps at 22 cents each.

Brown, James Burnett- Trans. from Co. B, 7th Cavalry Battalion, see also. Wounded at Shiloh on April 6, 1862. Died of wound in hospital at Corinth, Miss.

Brown, Richard F. - In battles at Manassas, Richmond, Chickamauga, Ringgold Gap, Atlanta, Jonesboro, and Franklin. Wounded twice in leg at Richmond, Ky. Wounded twice in arm at Franklin, Tenn., while carrying battleflag. Captured on Dec. 31, 1864, on Hood's retreat from Nashville. Carried to Camp Chase, Ohio. Paroled in May 1865.

Bugg, Richard W. - In battles at Manassas, Shiloh, Richmond, Perryville, Murfreesboro, Chickamauga, Peachtree Creek, and Franklin. Wounded slightly in knee at Richmond, Ky.. Wounded severely at Chickamauga, Ga. Shot in forehead, piece of skull shot away. Captured at Nashville on Dec. 15, 1864. Sent to Camp Chase, Ohio. Exchanged. Sent to Richmond, Va. Surrendered at Meridian, Miss. by General Richard Taylor in 1865.

Burk, John - Died at Tupelo, Miss. on July 18, 1862.

Campbell, James A. - Captured at Rock Grove, Tenn., on June 24, 1863. Sent to Camp Chase, Ohio, where he died of chronic diarrhea on Dec. 14, 1864. Grave No.215 one half mile south of Camp Chase.

Caplena, William N. - Killed at Perryville, Ky., on October 8, 1862.

Cardwell, John H. - Sgt. In hospital at Ocmulgee, Ga., on Feb. 13, 1864.

Carman, Elijah H. - Sgt. April 1, 1862. Wounded and captured at Richmond, Ky Aug. 30,1862. Exchanged at Vicksburg, Miss., December 4, 1862. Wounded at Murfreesboro, Dec. 31, 1862. Sent to hospital at Tullahoma. Captured at Atlanta, Ga, July 19, 1864. Sent to Camp Douglas, Ill then to Point Lookout, Md. Paroled May 10, 1865.

Carney, John S. - Deserted Feb. 16, 1864. Took the oath. Debtor for accouterments lost, one canteen, one knapsack, one cartridge, 25 cents. One load for gun.

Carr, Andrew J. - Prior service in Day's unlettered company 55th Tennessee Infantry. Died in Mississippi May 18, 1862.

Carr, Bailey P. - Died June 25, 1861.

Cook, Iverson M. - Detailed as hospital nurse at Richmond Ky., on Dec. 30, 1862. Captured there Exchanged. Deserted at Tullahoma, Tenn. March 11, 1863. Debtor for forty cartridges at 25 cents and 52 caps at 20 cents, total $12.60.

Copeland, Edward - Enlisted at Tupelo, Miss. June 20, 1862. Deserted on Jan. 16, 1864.

Crenshaw, Thomas J. - Sgt. Wounded in leg at Murfreesboro Dec. 31, 1862. Captured at Franklin, Tenn. Dec. 17, 1864, on Hood's retreat from Nashville. Sent to Camp Chase, Ohio. Paroled May 15, 1865, at 20 years old.

Crews, Green B. - Deserted April 1, 1862.

Cross, Rev. Joseph - Regimental Chaplain. Afterwards in Co. F, 19th Tennessee Infantry.

Crump, Andrew J. - In battles at Manassas, Va., Shiloh, Tenn., Corinth, Miss. Wounded in thigh at Murfreesboro Dec. 31, 1862. Deserted at Tyners Station near Chattanooga Aug. 16, 1863, with 11 others. Oath at Nashville on March 31, 1864.

Crunk, James S. - Wounded and captured at Murfreesboro Dec. 31, 1862. Sent to City Point, Va. Exchanged. Deserted at Tyner's Station Aug. 16, 1863. Another of the famous group of 11.

Cryer, James R. - Wounded at Richmond, Ky. Aug. 30, 1862. Detailed to Calvert's Artillery Battery, March 27, 1863. Trans. to Key's Artillery Battery on Feb. 20, 1864, order Gen. Cleburne. Had been made Corp. April 1, 1862, while in this company.

Dalton, Alfred R. - 3rd Sgt. June 1, 1863. Deserted at Tyner's Station Aug. 16, 1863. Oath. News of a further retreat of Bragg's Army, still further from home caused extreme dis-satisfaction.

Dalton, Thomas F. - Left in hospital at Shelbyville onBragg's retreat to Chattanooga Nov. 27, 1862. Discharged at Tyner's Station, Tenn., Aug. 16, 1863.

Daughtry, Charles C. - Detailed as blacksmith at Columbus, Miss. Feb. 25, 1862. Deserted Feb. 16, 1864. Took Oath.

Day, William H. - Known present at Lynchburg, Va May 14, 1861. Enlisted in Co. B, 7th Cavalry Battalion for one year, see also.

Doncho, Alfred G. - In battles at Manassas, Shiloh, Richmond, Perryville, Murfreesboro, Dalton, Atlanta, Jonesboro and Franklin, Tenn. Wounded by shell fragment in hip at Atlanta, July 21, 1864. Paroled at Greensboro, N. C., May 1, 1865. Was hospital assistant and assistant surgeon. A doctor after the war.

Donoho, John S. - Several slight woulds at Shiloh. Enlisted in Co. G, 9th Tennessee Cavalry.

Duncan, John M. - Deserted on April 1, 1863.

Duncan, William A., Sr. - Detailed as Hospital Nurse at Harrodsburg, Ky., on Oct. 10,1862. Captured there. Exchanged, Dec. 31, 1862. Enlisted in Co. G, 9th Tennessee Cavalry in 1863 at Knoxville. In battles of Chickamauga, Ga., Marion, Va., Saltville, Va., Mt. Sterling, Ky., June 9, 1864, where he was wounded in right side. Unable for duty three months. Paroled at Woodstock, Ga. in May 1865.

Duncan, William A., Jr. - Trans. to this company from Co. C, 24th Infantry. Killed at Chickamauga, Ga. on Sept. 20, 1863.

Dunking, Benjamin - Captured at Decherd, Tenn. July 7, 1863. Oath.

Stone, Apollus - Killed at Shiloh April 6, 1862.

Stone, Thomas E. - Wounded in little finger at Rinqgold Gap, Ga., on Nov. 27, 1863. Deserted on Dec. 28, 1864, debtor for accouterments.

Stone, Samuel S. - Corp. Left sick in Virginia when the regiment went back to Tennessee. Rejoined regiment. In battles at Richmond, Ky., Perryville, Ky., Murfreesboro, Tenn., Chickamauga, Ga., Missionary Ridge, Ringgold Gap, Ga., Dalton, Ga., Atlanta, Ga., Jonesboro, Ga., Franklin, Tenn. and second Murfreesboro, Tenn. Never wounded. Sent home from Murfreesboro, Tenn. by Gen. Bate to get clothing. Battle of Nashville was fought. Hood retreated so could never get back to his regiment. Oath on Dec. 28, 1864.

Talley, Tandy J. - Shown present at Lynchburg, Va., on May 14, 1861.

Terry, Reuben J. - Commissary Clerk. Killed at Shiloh April 7, 1862.

Troutt, Charles - Captured. Sent to Camp Morton, Ind. then to City Point, Va.
