REV. JOHN PARKER was born on August 17, 1792, and died on February 04, 1866 in Sumner
County, TN. He married MARY HARPER (the daughter of WILLIAM HARPER and
REBECCA BULL of Sumner County) on February 21, 1815. Polly, as Mary was called, was
born on March 15, 1796, and died on March 10, 1866 in Sumner County, TN. Both were
members of the Bethpage Methodist Church, and they are buried in the old Bethpage Cemetery.
The children of REV. JOHN PARKER and POLLY HARPER are:
- EVELINE H. PARKER, married JOHN S. SANFORD on October 28, 1840 in Sumner
County; died before 1866.
- E. C. PARKER, married WILLIAM STUART on July 13, 1836 in Sumner County; died
before 1866.
- NANCY R. PARKER, married JOHN B. HILL on October 27, 1831 in Sumner County;
died before 1866.
- ELVINA S. PARKER, married JAMES B. VANCE on July 30, 1841 in Sumner County;
died before 1866.
- JOHN M. PARKER, married ELIZABETH (called LIZZY); died in battle at Franklin, TN
on December 27, 1864.
- RICHARD C. PARKER, born on June 19, 1819; married MARTHA M. (?); died on January
31, 1885.
- MARY J. PARKER, married ABNER L. HANNA on November 06, 1837 in Sumner
County.
- MANERVIA C. PARKER, married W. F. HOLDER on November 03, 1850 in Sumner
County.
- HARRIET N. PARKER, married ROBERT G. PARRIS on August 5, 1842 in Sumner
County.
- SUSAN ELIZABETH PARKER, born on March 03, 1831; married WILLIAM SHELTON
WHITESIDE of Sumner County on July 02, 1849; died March 28, 1908 at Gallatin, TN.

2.2 SUSAN ELIZABETH2 PARKER (REV. JOHN1) was
born on March 03, 1831, and died at the home of her daughter (Blanche Malinda Whiteside
Dickenson) on March 28, 1908 in Gallatin, Sumner Co., TN. She married WILLIAM SHELTON
WHITESIDE (son of WILLIAM WHITESIDE and BLANCHE SHELTON of Sumner County)
on July 02, 1849 in Sumner County, TN. William, a farmer, was born on May 25, 1820 and died
on February 18, 1881 in Sumner Co., TN. Both Susan and William were members of the
Bethpage Methodist Church and they are buried in the old Bethpage Cemetery in Sumner County,
TN.

- JOHN WILLIAM WHITESIDE, born on May 01, 1850; died on September 11, 1917;
buried in the Gallatin Cemetery.

buried in the old Bethpage Cemetery.

- RUSSELL MILLER WHITESIDE, born on March 12, 1861; died in 1952.
- OLIVER CAGE WHITESIDE, born in 1867; died in 1936.
2.3 ELVINA S.2 PARKER (REV. JOHN1) died before
1866. She married JAMES B. VANCE, who was born on April 16, 1820 in TN, and died on
January 11, 1897. James was the son of DAVID VANCE SR. (born in 1765 in PA, died in 1831
in Sumner County) and ELIZABETH CREAMER (born in 1773 in PA).

GREENE and died before October 1883.
