Rushing Creek School

This is a photo of Rushing Creek School taken probably around the turn of the century. The teacher is Hester "Ester" Williams and she was a sister to my grandfather, George Washington Williams. Hester is on the far right, wearing a dark dress with a large, white collar. She is directly behind the two boys, one with his hands together.
Hester was born in Stewart County, TN, March 1, 1880 and died January 12, 1965. Hester was the youngest child of Issebella A. Barrow and Jacob S. Williams of Stewart County, TN. Hester married Will Allen on December 14, 1913.
Both Hester and Will are buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Athens, TN.
