BARNES, Mrs. Dorcas – verdict of inquest on insanity held 29 Feb. 1856; she was found capable of handling her affairs. (Page 208, Stewart County Settlements and Bonds, Book H)

CUMMINS, Thomas, Thomas FINN, and John O. RAGAN – inquests held on them in Jan. 1860 but no other information given. (Page 159, Bonds and Settlement Book 1860)

GILBERT, Jesse, makes bond as Susan SMITH hath charged him with being the father of her child, 7 July 1857. (Page 412, Stewart Co., Settlements and Bonds, Book H)

KNIGHT, Thomas – indenture made 3 Nov. 1856 between J. M. SCARBOROUGH, Judge of Stewart County, and W. H.H. PUGH; SCARBOROUGH is to deliver to PUGH a certain boy by the name of Thomas KNIGHT, age 14, to be an apprentice servant to PUGH until he reaches the age of 21; to be taught art of farming, to read, write, and arithmetic; and when he becomes 21 to be given a suit of clothing, worth $25, a horse and bridle, and saddle. MYERS, Adolph, verdict of inquest held Aug. 1865; he died on night of 17 Aug. 1865; killed himself with weapon. (Page 397, Settlements and Bonds, Book I)

NOLIN, Ph. B., deceased; guardian of the five children of P. B. NOLIN mentioned, but children’s names not given, circa 1840. (Bonds and Settlements Book for 1840, page 88)

OUTLAW, Joel, verdict of inquest found OUTLAW was insane and unsafe to go at large; signed 7 Oct. 1861. (Page 347, Settlements and Bonds, Book I)

ROGERS, Mary A., posts bastardy bond on 25 Aug. 1858 for her child; Nehemiah CHERRY was her bondsman. (Page 96, Settlements and Bonds, Book I)

TRIPLET, Rebecca A. - verdict of inquest held 22 March 1856, she caused death of her infant child. Starved it. Members of jury of inquest: F. G. PARKER, N. W. GILMORE, A. D. SUMMERS, N. W. WELCH, Lafayette, came to his death 25 April 1858. Coroner’s inquest at Cumberland Iron Works met to hear testimony of N. G. MORRIS and Dr. J. W. STOUT. STOUT was to extract a ball that had been lodged in WELCH’s vest some two years ago. Dr. STOUT performed operation and was unwilling to administer chloroform as the operation would not be severe. The deceased insisted the doctor use chloroform, and after chloroform administered, WELCH seemed to lose control of feelings and in a great rage threw a bason of water at Dr. STOUT, then sand down in stupor and could not be aroused; the amount of chloroform was not sufficient to do this to him; coroner’s jury found that there was no blame to the doctor. WOODFORD, Thomas, inquest held after he was found dead in the livery stable in Dover; Sept. 1859 term. Verdict: cause unknown. (Page 116, Settlements and Bonds, Book I)
