ANDERSON, MCGEE. Who is William P. Anderson? He was a resident of Davidson Co., TN between about 1800 and 1815. There he flourished. He owned or at least laid claim to lands in several TN counties, including, it seems, Stewart Co. If he is the same William P. Anderson, then he was U.S. District Attorney for Tennessee, 1798 1802. The source of this bit of information claims that his place of burial is unknown. Also, there was a Col. William P. Anderson, who commanded the 24th Regiment of U.S. Infantry in the War of 1812. Stewart Co. Deed Books show transactions involving William P. Anderson between 1804 and 1806. He apparently owned land on 'Well's Creek' which he ceded in 1805. In the 9 Sep 1805 Court of Stewart Co., he was found to be in arrears in his 1804 property taxes on 1200 acres. There are other records of his land dealings. I have another William Anderson who married Elizabeth Tomlinson, their daughter Rebecca marrying Thomas McGee, my 3rd great grandfather. Is there a connection between the two Andersons?

She attended O K and Big Rock schools from 1932 to 1942, at which time Camp Campbell took their farm. Does anyone have information about those schools during that time? When did O K cease to operate? Where is the site; is it still accessable? Whenwould she have transferred from O K to Big Rock? Is the abandoned Big Rock building the one that was in use during that time? Looking for teacher names also. Thank You.

I believe he was married and had the two daughters before marrying a second time to Rebecca Jane Elliott in 1835. Who was his first wife? I am guessing it was a Currie and the daughters were Sarah Ann Curtis and someone marrying a Lewis.
In the Stewart Co., TN wills for Thomas Shaw lists grandson William C. Lewis and daughter Sarah Ann Curtis. Both were mentioned in the estate of William Currie.
Stewart Co., TN Wills and Settlements lists Gabriel R. Jernigan, William Currie, Leonard Shaw, guardian bond for Sally and Margaret Jernigan; 1 Aug 1831
