Maces Hill School Group Abt 1898
This picture of Mace's Hill School near Pleasant Shade was made in about 1898. Calvin Gregory is
the only known student and he is standing at the bottom center of the picture. He was in the first grade.
This building later burned and Cal writes about it in the Cal's Column article of February 10, 1955.

The Original Building, Built Circa 1900, Did Not Contain The Addition "Up-Hill".
This Building Has Served As A School, Grocery Story And Residence.
