Grissum Family Bible
The Grissum Family Bible is a large leather covered edition. The title page
is missing but other indications show that it was published about 1816.
There were two pages that were pinned into the Bible as the space for writing was all used.

The Grissum family lived in Rome, TN. Two family members listed in this Bible,
John Marcellus Grissum and Thomas Carroll Grissum, were shot and killed by a
Union patrol on Sept. 3, 1864 at their home at Rome, TN. They are buried in the
family cemetery on the farm. It is recorded in the family records information on
the marriage between the Grissum and the Goodner family.
