Kemp, Asa Elster Sr.  1890-1969

 

 

Asa E. Kemp, Sr. - Mr. Kemp, well-known Farmer and Livestock Dealer of the Kempville and Difficult Community, passed away Monday, June 23.  Funeral  services were held Wednesday, June 25 at the Hackett Funeral Home, Kempville,  at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Otis Johnson, Sammy Cherry, Arnett Gregory and Okla Hooper, officiating.  Burial was in the Family cemetery.

 

Mr. Kemp was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the Hickory Grove Methodist Church.  He was the Son of the late John and Virgie Allen Kemp. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Sallie Mai Kemp; two daughters, Mrs.  Ralph Anderson, Route 1, Carthage, Mrs. James Monday, Goodlettsville; three  sons, J.B. and Asa Kemp Jr. of Route 1, Carthage, Dewey Kemp, Lafayette; one  sister, Mrs. Henry Jones, Route 1, Carthage; nine grandchildren and two  great-grandchildren.
