Walter Craighead died at his
Home near Defeated last Saturday morning after an illness of only a few days.
Mr. Craighead was about 37 years Old. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist
Church at Friendship and was held in
High esteem by his neighbors. Eld. H.L. Gholston of Brush Creek preached the
Funeral, after which the remains were laid to rest in the West graveyard. Mr.
Craighead is survived by his wife and six children.

Services for Callie Ann
Craighead, age 89, of Carthage, were conducted Sunday afternoon from the Chapel
of Sanderson Funeral Home, Carthage. Roy Barker, Minister, officiated.
Interment was in Lankford Cemetery, Defeated.
Mrs. Craighead died, January
3, 1975, at Armour Convalescent Home, Carthage. She was the widow of Walter
Craighead and daughter of Larkin and Lou Lankford Kemp. She was a member of
Friendship Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors are three daughters,
Mrs. Lue Ova Lankford, and Mrs. Willie Mai Wilkerson, both of Carthage and Mrs.
Georgia Carter, Riddleton; three sons, Overton Craighead, Defeated, Larkin
Craighead, Old Hickory, Lossie B. Craighead, Pleasant Shade; two brothers,
Willie Kemp and Jimmy Kemp, both of Defeated; 17 grandchildren; 32
great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great- grandchildren.
