This indenture made this 28th day of May in the year of Our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty six between D. C. Ward, W. B. Moore
& Arm Moore of the County of Smith and State Tennessee and John McCall of
the county & state of afforsaid (sic) witnesseth that the said D. C. Ward,
W. B. Moore & Armisted Moore for in consideration of the sum of eighty
seven dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
has granted, bargained, sold and confirmed and by these presents do bargain,
sell and convey unto the said John McCall, his heirs and assigns forever three
lots of ground adjoining the town of Rome known as Lots No. 2, No. 24 &
25. Lot 2 beginning at the southeast
corner of Lot No.1 running North 80 (degrees) East 33 yds to a stake, thence
North 80 yds to the Cumberland River, thence down said river to the north east
corner of said Lot No. 1, thence South to the beginning containing half
acre. Lot No. 24 beginning at a stake
24 feet south of the southeast corner of Lot 23 running South 36 yds 2 feet 10 inches 30/33 of inch to a stake,
thence South East 80 (degrees) West (?)33 yds to a stake, thence North
36 yds 2 feet 10 30/33 inch to a stake, thence north 80 (degrees) East 33 yds
to the beginning containing one fourth of an acre. Lot 25 Beginning at the
North most corner of Lot 24 running South 36 yds 2 feet 10 30/33 inch to a
stake thence South 80 (degrees) West 33 yds to a stake, thence North 36 yds 2
feet 10 30/33 inch to a stake then North 80 (degrees) East 33 yds to the
Beginning containing one fourth of a acre.
To have and to hold the aforesaid lots with all and singular the
appurtenances thereunto belonging to him the said John McCall his heirs and
assigns forever and all the said D. C. Ward, W. B. Moore & Armisted Moore
will warrant and defend the right and title of the afforesaid lots unto the
said John McCall his heirs and assigns from the claim or claims of all and
every other persons whosoever. In

McCall bearing date of 28th day of May 1836 was produced in open
court for probate and was duly proven in open court by the oaths of A. L. Bains
& J. D. Grissam (sic) the subscribing witnesses and on motion ordered to be
certified for registration attest
