To All To Whom These Presents Shall Come,
Greeting: KNOW YE, that in
consideration of Military Service performed by Richard Bean to the state of
North Carolina Warrant No. 4350 dated the 17th day of December 1796
and entered on the 9th day of March 1811 by No. 6027.
There is granted by the said state of Tennessee, unto
Jeremiah Gregory assignee of the said Richard Bean A certain tract or Parcel of
Land, containing Fifty acres part of said warrant by survey bearing date the 19th
day of August 1812 lying in Smith County in the first District on the North
side of Cumberland River on the waters of Peytons Creek and bounded as follows
(to wit) Beginning at two sugar tree saplings marked J.G. running West one
hundred poles to a chestnut oak thence South eighty poles to a Buckeye and
Pappaw thence East one hundred poles to a Buckeye and Sugar tree thence North
eighty poles to the beginning along said Gregorys improvement.
With the heraditaments and appurtenances. To have and
to hold the said tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances to the said
Jeremiah Gregory and his heirs forever.
In witness whereof, Joseph McMinn Governor of the state of Tennessee,
hath hereunto set his hand, & caused the great Seal of the state to be
affixed, at Knoxville on the 14th day of September in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventeen and of the Independence of
the United States, the forty second.
