At a meeting began on the third Lords day in August 1849 Pleasant Hill Robertson County Tennessee

                For the purpose of continuing a Baptist Church Elders O. H. Morrow, B. Roberts & W. J. Morton and deacons Bottick and Milliken being present for the purpose aforesaid for and themselves into presbytery and chose Elder O. H. Morrow moderator and W. J. Morton Clerk and upon examinations of the members  who proposed going into said constitution whose names are inserted below upon their standing as Church members and the said presbytery and ordained Constituted them into a church under the name and title of the Baptist Church at Pleasant Hill Tennessee for the profession of faith as published by the Bethel Association in there minutes the year 1847 which they adopted, To Wit, the whole was constituted by Bro. Roberts giving to the church the right hand of fellowship and Bro. Morrow speaking in (purpose)

Church met Saturday the fifteenth day of Sept 1849 and agreed to atach themselves to the Bethel Association by letter and delegate. Bro West appointed to write the letter and bare the same to the Association then received by experience Bro and sister Elijah & Elendor Arnol then on Sunday received sister Rachel West and black Bro Nelson (also) Paynes, Wrights, Arnolds, Buntons, and Stephen & Pattens, Martins.

                the church met the 20th of Oct 1849 and agreed to attend the meeting at (Cusburgh), on the 14th of nov 1849 for the purpose of choosing a place for the College in the bounds of the Bethel Association, nov conference nothing done, Church met on Saturday the 18th nov 1849 and received bro Charles Wright by letter.

                December nothing done, January, Feb March and April 1850 church met and nothing to do, on Sunday Church received a black brother by the name Jessy John Buntins by experience and was Baptized at may meeting 1850. Church met July 1850 on Saturday the 20th and declared unfellowship with Wright's Arnold for stealing wheat from his master and other conduct.

                Church met August 1850 Saturday the 17th Bro Stephen came forward and gave satisfaction for what against him then agreed to apoint a delegate to the association Bros Arnold & Bro West & Webb was apointed and Daniel A. Webb to write the letter to the association

                Church met September conference 1850 and agreed to record the Subscription for building of the Meeting House at Pleasant Hill Robertson County Tennessee in (Those) Church Book. Our protracted meeting commenced on the Wednesday after the fourth Saturday in Sept 1850 and continued nine days, in the time received ten by experience and nine Baptized and one received by letter sister Long was one of the ten and has not came to be Baptized as yet. Church met Oct 1850.

                 In conference and made house of Bro Morrow as the Pastor and Bro Morrow agreed to serve as the same.

November and december nothing done. 1850

Church met December 1850 agreed that we should have Liberty to receive members at any of our meetings.

Church met 29th January 1851, nothing done.

       "      '     26th February " Bro Morrow not being present and open doors and received Bro (Wm) Jones by letter,

                Church met March conference 1851 and sister Susan Payne received by experience and Baptized the next day,

                Church met April on Friday the 11th 1851 and received brother John J. Wright by experience and Baptism,                

                Church met May conference 1851, Open doors for members and received sister Susan J. Jones by letters and then were in for chosing deacons and Bro Arnold and Bro William Jones was chosen by the church, Church in May conference and received sister Mary E. Jones by letter,

                Church met in conference June 5th Sunday 1851 received two cullord sisters of Jno Bunton by experience and by the name Hariet and Margaret and was Baptized the fifth Sunday in June 1851.

                Our protracted meeting commenced the 19th of July 1851 and continued 5 days and in the time received sister Nancy Bigbee & Penny Hughlett by letter and received sister Manerva Murry by experience and to be Baptized when convenient,  proseded to the ordination of the deacons the Presbytery composed of elders morrow, Baldwin, and West.

                Church met August the 6th 1851 and Bro Morrow not being present Bro West proceeded, after survice Bro West chosen deacon, then open doors for receiving then received sister Mary (Duse) & Elizabeth Bigbee by experience to be Baptized when convenient, then received Bro William D. Cook by letter then received Bro Allen Groves by letter then retired to the water and Baptized sisters Long and Manerva Murry by Bro West, Bro West requested Liberty of the Church to (____) members at Bryley's School House in Sumner County.

Tennessee as an annex of Pleasant Hill Church and it was granted by the church to him,

                Church met the Saturday before the fifth Sunday in August 1851- Bro Morrow being present after preaching open doors to receive and received sister Mary Redferren by letter then received (Brethren) William …… and John E. Jones by experience to be Baptized at another time, then apointed Brethren T. West & J. J. Wright & William Jones as delegates to the Association and in case of fail on Bro Erastus Payne Church agreed to send one dollar to the printing fund of the association. Bro Clark to write the letter to the association,

                Church sat on the 20th of Sept 1851 and received sister Elizabeth Groves by letter then received George E. Jones by experience and received J. L. Jones by experience,

                Church set on Sunday 21st of Sept 1851 and received brother and sister Thomas Dean and Zulne Martin by experience. Church met on wesday the 24th of Sept 1851 and received Brother William Stringer & James Roney by experience and the association letter read and received,

                Church met Oct conference 1851 nothing done,

                Church met on Saturday before the third Lords day in November 1851, and received dan'l Long by experience, Wensday following Bro Morrow attended and a request handed in from Bro John M. Billingsby to change our meetings from third to the fourth Lords day in each month in the year, the vote taken and a large one (unity) opposed to the change,

                Church met December 24th 1851 and a request handed in from Bethany Church by Bro Howard requesting us to change from the third Sunday to some other Sabbath in the month and so few of the members being present agreed to let it stand to the next conference meeting,

                Church did not meet in Jan of 1852,

                Church met February conference 1852 and agreed for the request of Bethany Church to stand as a reference until March Conference,

                Church met March conference and acted on the request of Bethany Church letter to change

our day from the third Lords day to some other day and the church unanimously agreed not to change their time, nothing done at April conference 1852,

                May 1852 Church met on Saturday before the fifth Lords day and Bro Morrow Baptized three and on Sunday Received by experience sister Frances Hughlett and Jane Murry,

                Church met June 23rd 1852 Bro Morrow not being present Bro West chosen as moderator application being made by Bro West for a letter of dismisson for (P….) Martin, who belongs to Thomas Potents. It was granted him -

                Church met on Wensday July 21st 1852 Sat in conference and received Toliver Hughlett by experience than retired to the water and Bro Morrow Baptized Jane Murry and Frances Hughlett,

                Church met Saturday 28th of August 1852 Bro Morrow not being present Bro West chosen as moderator then motion and agreed to choose our delegates to the association on private ballot and Bro Thomas West, Bro William Jones and William Cook and in case of failure J. S. Voight then Bro Webb to write the letters to the association then agreed to sent one dollar to the printing fund then motion seconded and agreed to appoint a Treasurer for the Church Bro West chosen as Treasurer.

                Church met Saturday before the fifth Lords day in Oct 1852 and Bro West chosen as Moderator then our meeting continued for day to day until the third of nov 1852 then received sister Eliza Ann Groves by letter, then rec'd bro Martin E. West by experience.

                Church met the 25th of dec 1852 and bro William Jones chosen as moderator, motion and seconded that Bro William Baldwin to attend us as pastor the year of our Lord 1853, Church met fourth Saturday and Sunday January and nothing done worth recording,

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in February 1853 and opened doors for members and Bro Hughs and wife came forward and was received  by letter and Bro Daniel Long requested to have

a call for the church to meet on the second Lords day in March 1853 to grant sister Elizabeth Bigbee a letter of dissmission and the Church done so, Bro West Moderator,

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in March 1853 and nothing done and on Lords day after the same doors opened for the reception of members and Bro Henry Cumming and his wife Amanda Cumming came forward and joined by letter, and was received by the Church,

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords in April 1853 and sat those days (…) each month for communion the fourth Lords day in April and in July and October and agreed to have a protracted meeting to commence on Saturday before the fourth Lords day in July 1853 and on Lords day one baptized,

                Church met Saturday before the fourth … in May 1853 and nothing done,

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in June 1853 survis by Bro Phelps and doors opened for the reception of members and none came forward Bro Phelps Mod,

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in July 1853 survis by Elder W. D. Baldwin after which the church doors was open for the reception of members then James Hughlett came forward and joined by letter Bros Thomas West, W. Jones and J. W. Weir were elected by ballot delegates to association and Bro Hughs in case of failure Bro John W. Weir was elected assistant Clerk, it was motioned by Bro Hughs and seconded by Bro Jones that we take up a collection every month to defray the expenses of the Church which motion was laid on the table Bro W. Jones and J. W. Weir were appointed a committee to settle with the Treasure the Clerk was to write the letter to the association the Church resolved to send one dollar to the association as a printing fund, July the 29th 1853 church doors were opened to received members and then Amanda A. Arnold and Martha M. Wright came forward joined by experience, July 30th 1853 Church doors opened to received members then Harriet A. Allen and Martha Payne came forward and joined by experience.

                Monday August the 1st 1853 at the close of protracted meeting doors opened for the reception of members and Susan Arnold came forward and joined by experience and Caroline Barry by experience and (Goren) Wright by experience then retired to the water for Baptism and five were Emerced by Rev Bro Roberts,                

                Church met August Saturday before the fourth Lords day in 1853 and doors were opened for the reception of members but none came forward Bro Baldwin Mod. then the Church acted on the collection bill which was placed on the table of our last and past, then the committee to settle with the treasure which was done, then Bro West by request was released of being Treasure and Bro J. W. Weir was elected Treasurer then the association letter called for and read and past.

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in Sep 1853 Survis by Bro Thomas West doors opened for the reception of members and none came forward and a collection was taken up.

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in October 1853 appointed a committee to inquire into the Treasure and find out what funds on hand.

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in November 1853 Survis by Bro Baldwin and then the doors open for the reception of members and none came forward then the committee report called for and read and dismissed a copy of the committee,

                We the committee appointed by the Church on Saturday before the fourth Lords day in Oct 1853 met according to appointment, Brother Hughs absent Bro Thomas West Chairman, William Jones Clerk, first inquired into the State of the Treasure and found in the hands of the Treasurer Seven Dollars and forty cents paid over by Brother Arnold also in the hands of Thomas West fifty cents as given by Westley Shannon making in all Seven Dollars and ninety cents on subscription eight dollars unpaid in the money as find we leave in the hands of Thomas West for the purpose of settling with Payne the planks that we found left of the

last lumber we agree to leave to Thomas West as we find no sale first done on Tuesday the 25th of October 1853. Bro Thomas West chairman of the committee, William Jones Clerk, Elijah Arnold and John J. Wright. Rec'd August 27th 1853 of Thomas West eighteen dollars and sixty cents in full for lumber for making seats for the Pleasant Hill Meeting House, G. Payne a copy of the receipt by the clerk D. Webb - done in conference on fourth Saturday in November 1853 -

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in December 1853, Survis elder W. D. Baldwin and on motion of Lee a Hughs, William Stringer and J. W. Weir we appointed a committee to solicit money for Bro Baldwin, The treasure was directed to hand over to Bro …… pastor of the church all moneys in his hands, Bro Lee A. Hughs presented the church with a table which was received by the church -

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in January 1854, Survis by Bro Baldwin doors opened for the reception of members and none came forward, Then the treasure reported and paid over to the pastor Seventeen dollars and five cents, motioned by Bro Lee Hughs and seconded by Bro Arnold that the constitution of the Church be read at our next meeting in February the fourth Lords day 1854.

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in Feb 1854 and the abstracts of Principles called for and read, moved by Bro Hughs and seconded by Bro William Jones that the names of the members of the Church be read, past and read, Survis by Bro Baldwin

                Saturday before the fourth Lords day in March 1854 Church met, Survis by Bro W. D. Baldwin on motion and seconded the clerk was requested to bring the church book to our next meeting in case and to read that portion of it relating to the call that Bro Baldwin requested to take charge of the church and anything else the brethren may call for

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in April 1854 the book call for and read that part relating to Bro Baldwin being call as Pastor, Survis by  Bro Featherston and doors opened for reception of members and none came forward and that Bro J. W. Weir chosen to inform Bro Baldwin that he was chosen Pastor in 1853 -

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in May 1854 and opened doors for the reception of members and none came forward, Survis by Bro Baldwin and set a protracted meeting to commence the Friday before the fourth Lords day in Oct 1854, and then appointed D. A. Webb in June to secap the house and in July Bro William Stringer to do likewise and in August Bro William Jones to secap the house and fetch water

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in June 1854, Survis by Bro Baldwin, doors opened for the reception of members and none came forward

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in July 1854, Survis by Bro Featherstone and Bro Thomas West chosen as moderator, and then voted in our delegates to the association, By ballot Bro John J. Wright and Bro William Jones, and Bro John W. Weir and in the case of failure Bro William Stringer the church agreed to send one dollar for a printing fund and bro D. A. Webb to write the letter to the association

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in August 1854, motioned by Bro Jones and seconded by Bro Arnold that Bro Thomas West act as moderator and agreed by the church, doors opened for the reception of members and one came forward, and joined by experience to be Baptized on Sunday at 9 o'clock, and the association letter cald for and read and received, and Baptism attended according to appointment on Sunday 1854, D.                 Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in Sept, Survis by Thomas West and then motioned by Bro Arnold and seconded by Bro Hughs that Bro T. West act as mod. and agreed, doors opened for reception of members and none came forward, Then sister Hughlett called for letters of dismission and sister Nancy Bigbee also requested one and it was granted by the church, Thomas West Mod.                 Church met according to appointment Friday before the fourth Lords day in Oct 1854 when the protracted meeting commenced, and continued until Friday night and in time of the meeting five came forward and joined by experience and sister Nancy Wright called for a letter of dismission and it was granted by the church, Bro Baldwin moderator, D. A. Webb clerk

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in November 1854, Survis by Bro William Baldwin, doors opened for reception of members and one came forward and joined by experience and on Lords day was Baptized by Bro. W. Baldwin and three others also the names as follows, Mary Wright and Doratha Wright, and Mossouria Gossett and Lloyd Barry, and then returned to the church and survis by Bro Baldwin

                Saturday before the fourth Lords day in Dec 1854 the church met, survis by the pastor Bro W. Baldwin, Treasure reports the treasure of the church would respectfully report that since he came into office August 29th 1853 he has received twenty nine dollars and fifty cents that he paid one dollar for printing minutes for 1853, Seven dollars and forty cents for seats to furnish the house of Bro W. D. Baldwin, nineteen dollars and five cents to bro Johnes fifty cents to buy wire for commision, to Bro  T. West eighty cents for printing minutes for 1854, making in all twenty eight dollars and seventy five cents all of which is respectfully submitted, J. D. Weir on motion and seconded

                by Bro Hughs and Stringer were approved to reserve moneys for Bro Baldwin, it was by Bro Hughs & seconded by Bro Jones that Bro George Featherston be called to the pastoral case of the church which was unanimously passed and Bro J. W. Weir and Bro Jones to inform him he was chosen Pastor by letters

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in February 1855, Survis by Bro Featherston

doors opened for the reception of members and none came forward and the church unanimously agreed that Bro Thomas West may preach the gospel at any time or place where his lot my fall by the order of the church A. D. Webb clerk

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in March 1855, Survis by Bro Featherston and Thomas West chosen moderator, doors opened for the reception of members and none came forward.

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in April 1855, survis by Bro Featherston and Bro West, doors opened for reception of members and none come forward, then a motion by Bro Thomas Weat & seconded by Bro J. J. Wright that we have a protracted meeting to commence on Saturday before the fourth Lords day in July 1855 and agreed to by the church

                Saturday before the fourth Lords day in June 1855 church sat in conference, first doors opened for the reception of members, second  Bro J. W. Weir, W. C. Barry, William Stringer were elected messengers to

to the next annul association and Bro Thomas West was elected in case of failure, the Clerk was requested to prepare the letter for the association,  the church agreed to send one dollar to the printing fund -

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in July 1855, the commencement of a protracted meeting which continued for eleven days and in the time of the meeting there was …… joined by experience and seven of the number were Baptized by Bro Billingsbee

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in August 1855. survis by Bro Featherston, doors opened for reception of members and two came forward and joined by experience, Daniel West and Isaac Barry, and the association letter read and past, D. A. Webb clerk and on Sunday four Baptisms by Bro Featherston Pastor

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in Oct 1855, First an opportunity was given to any person who might wish to join the church, Second it was stated to the church that there was in Sirculation a slanderous report about Bro D. A. Webb, Thereupon Bro L. Hughs, William Jones, J. J. Wright, T. Barry and J. W. West were appointed a committee to investigate the reports, the results to the church at the next conference day

                Saturday conference Oct 27th 1855, Your committee to whence the report concerning of Brother D. A. Webb Report that we went agreeable to appointment and after investigating the matters we find nothing substantial or true as reported of Bro Webb, J. W. Weir, William Jones, J. J. Wright, & T. C. Barry clerk of the committee

                Conference before the fourth Lords day in Nov 1855, First an opportunity was offered to any person who might wish to join the church, Second the committee appointed to investigate the reports about Bro Webb, Reported and was discharged and the report ordered to be put on the church book, J. W. Weir, A. C. Clark, D. A. Webb clerk

                Saturday before the fourth Lords day in Dec 1855, We the United Church at Pleasant Hill met in conference, First an opportunity was given to anyone who might be interested in joining the church, Second Rev Featherston offered his resignation as Pastor of the church which was received, Third it was motioned that Bro Barry that Bro Featherston be called to the pastoral case of church which was unanimously passed and Excepted by Bro Featherston -

                Saturday before the fourth Lords day in January 1856 Church met in Conference, First an opportunity was given to anyone who might be interested in joining the church, Second the report of the Treasure who reported and was accepted, Third the Treasure was directed to pay all monies in his hands to the Sexton which was one dollar & seventy-five cents, the report of the Treasurer of Pleasant Hill Church January 1856 - wold report that during the last year 1855 he received Thirty two dollars and eighty five cents  for Bro Featherston Pastor of the church which he has handed to him also five dollars and fifty cents to defray church expenses and that was a balance of seventy five cents in the Treasury at the beginning of the year and he paid to Bro William Jones two dollars and five cents for wire, Bro J. M. Billingsbee and T. M. Montgomery one dollar and forty five cents and one dollar for printing minutes, leaving a balance in his hands of one dollar and seventy five cents of which is respectfully submitted, J. W.                 Church met Saturday before the fourth Sunday in February 1856, First an opportunity was given to any person who might wish to join the church when Michael Long came forward and joined by experience, Second on motion by Bro Barry is was resolved to establish a Sunday School at Pleasant Hill Bro Hughs was appointed Sexton and was allowed sixe dollars for his survises

                 Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in March 1856, first an opportunity was given to any person who might wish to join the church and none came forward and then it was moved by Bro W. Jones and seconded by Bro Arnold that H. C. Barry be leader in the church and agreed by the church, the appointed a protracted meeting to commence on Saturday before the fourth Sunday in July 1856 at 2 o'clock A. M.

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in April 1856, Survis by Bro Featherston, doors opened for the reception of members, then William Barry and Vermelia Cunningham forward and joined by letter

                Church met in conference before the fourth Lords day in May 1856, Bro Hughs requested to be relieved from the care of the House which was granted him by the church, Second on motion of the clerk was requested to bring the church book to the next and read that portion relating to the principles on which the House was built for

                Church met in conference before the fourth Lords day June 1856, First the book read that part which was cald for last conference meeting, then moved by Bro J. W. Weir and seconded by Bro William Jones that the book of the church which  Bro D. A. Webb drawed of from the old book be received and the church acted on it and received it unanimously,  (…..) by Bro Featherston, D. A. Webb clerk

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in July 1856 the  commencement of a protracted meeting which continued ten days and in the time of the meeting  five came forward and joined by experience and four of them were Baptized one by Bro Thomas West and three by Bro Featherston Pastor of the church

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in August 1856 and the clerk was requested to rite the association letter to be read at the next meetin, in course Bro West mod. and on the first Lords day in Sept one was Baptized by Bro West and meeting on same by Bro West

                Church met Saturday before the fourth Lords day in Sept 1856, survis by Bro Featherston, doors opened for the reception of members and one came forward and joined by letter, and next the association letter read and received, then chosed our delegates to the association William Stringer, Pleasant Wright and James Hughlett

                Preamble and resolutions adopted by Pleasant Hill Church Robertson County Tenn at their regular meeting in Feb 1863. Whereas the church having held an election for pastor on the fourth Saturday in Nov 1862, and whereas Elder G. W. Featherston name was used without his knowledge or consent thereby placing him in an unfavorable light before the church and community, it generally being understood by the church that he could not accept the care of the church if elected, We deem it right and proper in justice to him that we make a public explanation of the matter and adopt

                1st Resolved that said vote did not express the feelings of the church toward Bro Featherston

                2nd Resolved that Bro Featherston served us acceptably for several years as pastor and was instructmental in the rebuilding of the church and the increase of her membership

                3rd Resolved that we regard Bro Featherston an able and worthy minister of the Gospel and we cordially invite him to fill our pulpit whenever he has the opportunity

                4th Resolved that the above preamble and resolution be recorded upon our church book and a copy sent to Bro Featherston,

                Brother George McMillin was charged with swearing & drunkenness, Bros J. J. Wright and Bolivar Payne were appointed a committee to investigate said charges and request him to come up and make his defense at our next meeting,

                Bro William Long was charged with having been intoxicated which he being present acknowledged to be true but said he was sorry for it and asked the church to forgive him and pray for him and he would do better in future where upon the church received his acknowledgement and forgave him, Bro Alfred McAdams charged with swearing and fighting being present said it was true and that he was imposed on became greatly excited at the time and asked the forgiveness of the church which was granted,

Crocker was called to act as Clerk pro tem after which J. A. Crocker was elected Church Clerk to fill the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Wm Stringer who had been Clerk 20 years. Oct 26, Pleasant Hill Church met in conference Saturday evening at 2 oc  before the fourth Sunday in Oct 82, the commencement of a protracted meeting continued 7 days and 15 nights on Sunday night sister Amanda Stringer called for a letter from the church and Bro Bend Ponds objects to hur having a letter and it was called in on Monday night the mod ordered the (___) with to meet in conference ­­­(___) the next day to investigate Bro Ben Ponds objection the Church met in order

on motion by J. W. Swan and seconded by J. W. Roark that Bro Ben Pond came forward and give his reason for objection to sis Amanda Stringer having a letter and the motion was unanimously carried Bro Ben Pond came forward and read as follows, Bro this not as big a (leogaloe) as you think it is I have not got  a naught against sis Amanda Stringer, the reason I object to her having a letter was the report that it is owt on me that I testified … The Circuit Court at Springfield I don't feel worthy to grant a letter in this condition and I would have objected to any other member of this Church having a letter as I did here until this report is settled, the objection was discust by J. W. Swan, and J. W. and C. W. Roark and on motion it was that we give sister Amanda Stringer a letter of dismission from the Church and it was unanimously carried not a dissenting vote against her the mod ordered the clerk to prepare the letter on motion it was that the mod appoint a committee to investigate and see whether or not these reports on Bro Ben Pond be true and report at the next conference meeting the committee was composed of C. W. Roark, J. W. Stark, W. W. Wright, W. H. Abernathy asked the membery of the Church to come out tonight and hear him preach his farewell sermon that he was a going to resign his pastoral

of the Church and quit it, during the meeting Bro Christopher Summerville came forward and joined by experience and on Sunday the last day of the meeting sis M. D. Summerville and Bro C. Summerville was baptized no other business conference closed.

Nov 25, Pleasant Hill Church met in conference Saturday before the fourth Sabbath in Nov 82 before serm Bro J. W. Swan made it nown to the Church that there were disputes about his opening the doors of the Church and receiving members and baptizing Bro Christopher Summerville wether he bin duly received in the Church and the hand of fellowship had bin extended to him at the last protracted meeting as some said he had no right to do so after the resignation of the present Pastor he ask the Church if he had done right with the exception of one member he the made affirmation of some unpleasant words that he said to Bro A. C. Pond at the election of Byram Dehart (he) and ask for forgiveness and the Church showed by a vote that they would forgive him Surv by J. W. Swan Surv opened by the reception of members J. F. Williams came forward and joined by experience J. W. Swan was elected mod for the day the minutes of the last

meeting was read and received the committee that was appointed at the last conf by the request of Bro Ben Pond and J. T. Pond read there report the report was received and the committee was released the Church said it was naul and void and throld it out of the Church as it was not of this Church Bro J. T. Pond Deacon, A. A. Pond and Christopher Summerville members of the Church was on (un-p) capable terms the mod ask Bro Summerville if he was willing to mead with Bro A. A. Pond and recognize him as a Bro and fellowship him a brother and if he would confess to any rong that he had done him since his conversion to Bro Pond Bro Summerville made some acknowledgement to him that mod declined acting or mod and put Bro J. A. Long in as mod on motion and it was carried that Bro A. A. Pond come forward and give his reasons for saying that there was (monthcrief) in the Church now all ready to eat it up and others had about done it and told who they may Bro Pond said he would not give his reasons now for he did not his paper and with him and he ask for

further time and carried that we give Bro A. A. Pond till the next meeting to give his reasons and to  be reconciled with Bro Summerville on motion it was unanimously carried Bro J. W. Swann was called to the Pastorial care of the Church for the next 12 months no other business appeared conference closed.

Dec 23, Pleasant Hill Church met in conference Saturday before the fourth Sunday in Dec 82 pray led by Bro J. M. Long on motion it was and carried J. W. Swan act as mod for the day the minutes of the last meeting was read and received,  Bro (ast) Pond :S: pray L. C. Payne send Bro A. A. Pond was not ready for trial a his wife had him sick and he has made no arrangement for and if the Church wanted to heare from him they would have to wait until the fourth Saturday in February 83, A. A. Pond was granted the permission to make a proper mission to the Church on motion it was and carried that we give Bro A. A. Pond till the fourth Saturday in Feb 83, Bro J. W. Paul Groves of Mt Zion Church Sumner Co Tenn was chosen as committee, minutes of Oct & Nov Dec 82 & Jan Feb 83 was read and laid before the committee for investigation, J. W. Swan stated that C. Summerville was received in the Church by a vote neary vate against him on mondy knight on Sunday morning met at the river baptize A. D. Pond came to the river & read his objection to Summervilles being baptized in this Church because he cused him of forging a note & swearing lie & Pond sead there was moth anuf now all ready in the Church to eat it up & had about done it & Swan stated this difficulty was 4 years before Summerville profess religion he stated that he sent C. W. & J. W. Roark to the members of the Church to know what he may do to the Church sead go on with the Baptism the Church book will give you the reason we excluded Pond, J. W. Roark & C. W. Roark made some statement the moderator ask if there was any body else wanted to say any thing none appeared, the committee took charge of the case & read the Church done right.
