Roane County was established in 1801 and named after the 2nd governor to Tennesse, Archibald Roane. The county seat is Kingston.

I hope you find this site helpful in your research of your Roane County roots. I am unable to do additional research on your family but may be able to offer suggestions if you provide details about what you are researching.

Research Resources

Make sure you check the "Records & Resources" section! There you will find information on a variety of topics. You can think of this page like the "table of contents" directory for the site.
