A Deed of Conveyance From Lavina Howell To Benjamin Howell

A deed of Conveyance from Lavina Howell to Benjamin Howell for her undivided show in a tract of land, 8 Civil District, Roane County. Whereas by direct issue Malichi Howell, Lavina Howell and myself have divided title to, and now hold equal and undivided interest in a tract of land in the State of Tennessee, Roane County and District No. 8 bounded as follows: on the west by James Moore, on the south by Pleasant Furgeson, on the north by Benjamin Howell. Now I have bargained and sold and do hereby convey and transfer all my right, title and interests in and to said land to the said Benjamin Howell and his heirs for the sum of Forty dollars to me paid, to have and to hold the same to the said Benjamin Howell his heirs and assigns forever and I warrant and agree for? myself, my heirs and representations to warrant and ??? the title to my undivided interest ? ? ? against my claim to be made by my or any person claiming there of or under me, Given under my hand and seal November 20, 1850. Assigned in the presence of us:

State of Tennessee ) Roane County ) Personally appeared before me, Austin L. Greene, Clerk of the County Court of said county John G. Howell and Kitta Tinnin two of the subscribing witnesses to the within and foregoing deed who being first sworn for that function dispose and say that they are acquainted with Lavina Howell the bargainer named in the within and foregoing deed and the said John G. Howell says that he saw her sign, seal and execute the same upon Thursday, it being date, and the said Kitty Tinnin says that the said Lavina acknowledged the same to be her art and deed in her presence on the present day, witness my hand at office in Kingston this 18th day of December 1850.

State of Tennessee ) Roane County ) The foregoing deed of conveyance together with the clerks certificate therein is registered in the Registers office of Roane County in Book D and page 174 this 20 day of December 1850. John H. Layton, Register for Roane County.
