JAMES THOMAS FLY, JR. son of H. L. and H. E. Fry, grandson of David Fly, born April 3, 1863; died near Coffeeville, Miss., Dec. 18, 1896; left widow and three children.

SENECA X. HALL born Scott Co., Ky., March 31, 1836, youngest of six children; died

Louisville, Ky., Dec. 14, 1896; son of Squire John Hall; ancestors came from Northern Ireland. Received on trial for ministry in Methodist Church in September 1856, Ky. Conference. A tribute supplied by Quarterly Conference at Settle Chapel in Owensboro, Ky. (not dated).

W. H. EVANS born Davidson Co., Tenn., Oct. 16, 1812; converted to Methodism Sept. 17, 1832; married Margaret Ann Clariton, Feb. 19, 1835; an "old fashioned Methodist." 14 children, three died young. His wife died March 1, 1896. He died Dec. 17, 1896. Supplied by his daughter Maggie.

Mrs. JANE FOWLER died a the residence of her kinsman, Samuel Henderson, Cornersville, Tenn., Oct. 29, 1896, an aged lady; a niece, Sallie Walton; another niece, Mrs. John E. Harrison.

MARY ANN RUSSELL born May 4, 1839; died Mt. Pleasant, Miss., Oct. 26, 1896; married Mr. Russell, 1856, Calhoun Co., Miss.; 7 sons, 3 daughters. Buried at Mt. Zion Church.

Mrs. REBECCA JANE COBB daughter of Thomas Elliott, a Methodist preacher; born Virginia, April 18, 1818; moved to Ky. with parents when young; married Thomas Shaw, Trigg Co., Ky., August 10, 1835; moved to Stewart Co., Tenn.; one son (John D. Shaw), 3 daughters; he died April 5, 1852; she married (2) A. G. Cobb, May 1859, a widower; died Cody, Ky., January 3, 1897.

ROBERT ANDERSON WILLIAMS born Dec. 4, 1865; married Deedie Johnson, Dec. 1, 1887; died Sept. 5, 1896; left widow and three children.

Mrs. MARY C. HAGGARD born April 1, 1833; died near Verona, Tenn., Oct. 16, 1896; daughter of John Fisher, a pioneer Methodist; sister of Rev. T. B. Fisher, Tenn. Conference; married Rev. R. M. Haggard, April 10, 1856; 8 children, three of whom were preachers. One son, Berry, deceased.

SARAH C. CLARKE, nee Alverson, born Madison Co., Ky., May 16, 1831; died Eureka Springs, Ark., Dec. 9, 1896; married (1) Mr. Morgan; (2) A. G. Clarke, about 1880.

LOUISA A. MERRIWETHER, Hernando, Miss., died at residence of her son, R. M. Banks, Dec. 20, 1896; born Elbert Co., Ga., Aug. 31, 1811; daughter of James and Jane Tait; married (1) Lemuel Banks, Dec. 25, 1833; (2) Charles Merriwether, 1857. First husband died Sept. 1854.

VAN LEE TURLEY born July 11, 1864, St. Francis Co., Mo.; had lived in Graves Co., Ky. and Dallas, Tex.; died from accidental injuries, Oct. 17, 1897.

Miss MARY CARLISLE CHERRY born Cherry Valley, Wilson Co., Tenn., Aug. 19, 1815; died Jan. 8, 1897 at residence of half-brother, Rev. W. D. Cherry.

WALTER HOLMES born Talbot Co., Ga., Jan. 25, 1861; moved to Ark. in 1872; moved to near Santa Anna, Tex. in 1886; joined Methodist Church in 1876; married Anne Standlee, Dec. 24, 1879; 5 children. His father, Rev. D. T. Holmes served in the NW Texas Conference and survived him.

SARAH RYAN WALKER born Lynchburg, Va.; married Judge William Walker; 7 children. Died Dec. 4, 1896.

ROBERT L. HODGES born Smith Co., Tenn., June 10, 1819; died Jan. 18, 1897; moved to Dunklin Co., Mo. in 1854; married (1) Jane P. Chambers, 1843, 4 children; (2) Mrs. M. E. Hord, 2 children; he was educated in Trousdale Co., Tenn.

JENNIE R. CROUCH, nee Lear, born Ohio; May 12, 1838; moved to Henry Co., Tenn. in 1859; married F. M. Crouch, Oct. 2, 1859; died Oct. 27, 1896; buried in Bethel Cemetery, Buchanon, Tennessee.

SAMPSON GATHINGS son of James and Jane Gathings, born Union Co., N.C., Mar. 29, 1823; educated Wakefield College, N.C.; married Martha A. Chambers, April 1840 (she died April 1859); married (2) Sue Williamson, 1861. Died Monroe Co., Miss., Dec. 9, 1896.

Rev. R. D. HARRIS son of Amos and Nancy Harris, born Allen Co., Ky., Aug. 16, 1826; married Arthema T. Anderson, Nov. 12, 1849; (2) Nancy M. Martin, April 24, 1876. First wife died May 21, 1875. He died June 29, 1896.
