Rev. SAMUEL B. WHITE, a local MECS preacher, born Caroline Co., Va., Sept. 17, 1790; died May 31, 1852; licensed to preach 1812; moved to Franklin Co., Ala. 1818.

OLEVIA M. COLLINS w/o William Collins; d/o John and Alcy McFall, born March 10, 1810; died Oct. 8, 1852; to her children she said, "John, my dear child, your ma is almost gone. John, get religion." To son, Jeremiah, "Jeremiah, you have been a good boy, get religion." Her daughter, Alcy lived in La., but her mother left word for her, "Poor Alcy, tell her to seek religion and meet her ma in heaven."

JACOB WATSON s/o John Watson; born Albemarle Co., Va., 1775; died Phillips Co., Ark., Nov. 6, 1852; became a MEC preacher; ordained deacon 1803; ordained elder 1805; located in 1808 and taught school; md Elizabeth Ward 1810, of Albemarle Co. and fathered 15 children, 10 surviving; dedicated his life "to the work of teaching school and preaching the gospel."

THOMAS BRANSFORD born Chesterfield Co., Va., April 5, 1767 but raised in Buckingham Co., Va., from which he moved to Barren Co., Ky. in the fall of 1817; died Glasgow, Ky., Jan. 25, 1853; "has left numerous descendants in the states of Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois and Missouri."

W. L. MARMON born Hardeman Co., Tenn., Feb. 12, 1826; died Sept. 19, 1852; "a young

man of fine education and talents, elegant and commanding in his person and manners." He was stabbed to death at his residence in DeSoto Co., Miss. by a man named Green. Son of Joseph Marmon of Tippah Co., Miss.

SARAH JANE CRIGHTEN d/o Alexander and Nancy McCowen; w/o A. C. Crighton; born Williamson Co., Tenn., June 1, 1824; moved to Nashville 1847; md August 23, 1848; died January 27, 1853.

Capt. GARLAND BROWN, formerly of Physic Spring, Buckingham Co., Va.; died in Marshall Co., Miss., Feb. 11, 1853 in his 78th year; left widow and by second marriage "a large family of children and grandchildren."

"Sister" WILLIAMS died near Lebanon "a few weeks ago."

LORETTO ZIMERMAN died Franklin Co., Miss., Feb. 9, 1853 aged about 22 years; born Jefferson Co., Miss.; raised by her uncle, Edward Forman - she and her three brothers were raised by him until his death, then she was raised by Ranson Bunckley; md Thomas M. Zimerman.

"He and a young man were trying to shoot a squirrel, when brother Jones' gun (a shot gun) went off and the whole load of duck shot went in under his chin, right up into his head and he died almost without a groan."
