SIMMONS CEMETERY

Simmons Cemetery, April 1999

This is an old cemetery on the north side of U.S. 412 (state highway 100). The cemetery seems to have surrounded a church (now gone) on three sides. There are many fieldstones and sunken spots west and north of the church location. There probably are 50-100 unmarked graves. The cemetery is rarely used now. There were two burials between 1988 and 1999 and one burial in 2004. Leo and David Donahue recorded this Simmons Cemetery December 26, 1988. David Donahue update it April 16, 1999 and August 13, 2004, and checked it October 2, 2004.
