MR. DONALD DEWEY WORTHAMS

Life Sketch

            Mr. Donald Dewey Worthams son of the late Rev. Willie Worthams and Aline Worthams was born in Jackson, Tennessee, November 1, 1952. His life came to a close on Tuesday, August 6, 1991 at the Jackson General Hospital.

            He attended Lincoln Elementary School and Merry High School. He graduated with a B.S. Degree from Lane College, Jackson, Tennessee. He was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and Ward Chapel A. M. E. Church in Peoria, Illinois.

            After graduation, he worked for the public school system in Charleston, Missouri for two years. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He was later employed by Glenwood Boys School in Glenwood, Illinois and the Pontiac Correctional Facility in Pontiac, Illinois.

            Donald Dewey leaves to cherish his memory: his mother; a son, Donald D. Worthams, Jr. of Jackson, Tennessee; a brother, Willie Floyd Worthams of Jackson, Tennessee; two sisters, Maxie A. Worthams and Gwendolyn D. Worthams, both of Peoria, Illinois; three uncles, Elmo Hayes of Rockford, Illinois, Rev. Johnny Worthams and Wilbert Worthams, both of Jackson, Tennessee; five aunts, Rachel Price and Mattie Johnson, both of Jackson, Tennessee, Jennie Sue Cunningham of Memphis, Tennessee, Earner Love Clark of Gary, Indiana and Ada Mae Duckworth of Rockford, Illinois; a host of relatives and friends.
