SHANNON CEMETERY

Located on Highway 114, about ½ mile from the Three-Way (Lancaster) School, on the right side of the road. It is very difficult to find this graveyard.

H. I. B., rock outside fence next to the road

Shannon, Beulah, Jan. 10, 1891-Sept. 21, 1892, "Dau. of J. R. & M. M. Shannon" (broken)

Shannon, Infant, Nov. 12, 1892-Nov. 12, 1892, "Infant daughter of J. R. & M. M. Shannon" (broken)

Thompson, Ja. S., July 25, 1792-May 8, 1856

There is an unmarked grave that is built on top of the ground with concrete blocks covering it. It looks like a child’s grave.

There are about 70 unmarked graves. Condition very poor.

This cemetery was indexed by Margarett Alexander and Blanche Tuten on February 15, 1976.

The first trip wasn’t too successful so hearing from people in the community that .the graveyard should be fairly large we returned. Nancy Jones and Jerri Tuten reindexed this cemetery on April 27, 1980.
