OLD CENTER CEMETERY
This is a very old cemetery north of Bath Springs. Old state highway 69 bisects the cemetery. The cemetery and adjacent church are indicated on the U.S.G.S. Bath Springs quadrangle (1972). There are hundreds of unmarked and fieldstone marked graves.
David Donahue recorded Old Center Cemetery December 26, 1996, and updated it April 16, 2001 and July 8, 2004. Margarett Alexander and Blanche Tuten recorded this cemetery on March 26, 1977. Their record appears in Decatur County, Tennessee Cemetery Records published by the Captain Nathaniel A. Wesson Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Parsons, Tennessee, 1984, pp. 415-423. They noted "at least 348 graves marked with sandstone rocks." Reference is made to this work where appropriate.
