I am a great-great grandson of Isaac Preston
KNIGHT, son of Levi H.KNIGHT and Margaret THOMPSON. He was 2nd Lt. in
Battery B, 1st TNLight Artillery Battallion. Isaac's requests for
leave indicate moreservice than can be accounted for by his service
record. Familytradition says Isaac and Levi were rescued from prison
by Harriet J.Knight, Isaac's sister. Is there a way to check on
records of theUnion Home Guard? Levi recruited for the Union and was
wounded twicebefore he was killed Jan 8, 1864 by a rebel
guerilla.
