Looking for anyone with SNOW ancestors from Macon Co, TN. 1880 Macon Co., TN census shows Albert Snow, wife Sarah (STAFFORD) as well as an Eliza STAFFORD as a 13 year old servant in the home. Sarah, I believe is Eliza's older sister, and both are siblings to my great grandfather Caleb STAFFORD. Albert T. SNOW (b. 3-17-1858, d. 9-27-1911) and wife Sarah SNOW (b. 9-16-1861, d. 7-9-1952) are buried in Whitley Cemetery. Anthony Funeral Home Records show their son James Henry SNOW (b.1882, d. 1-2-1943) and indicate his mother to be Sarah STAFFORD and his father Albert SNOW. My hope is that there are other descendants of Albert and Sarah who may have information on Sarah STAFFORD'S parents. I believe Sarah was born in Trousdale County, per the 1870 census. Please respond with any information, no matter how trivial. Thanks!

My mother is Fabrice McClellan, b. March 26, 1912 in Red Boiling Springs, Macon County, TN. This is all I have to go on. Everyone is deceased and memory is failing all the others. The only story I have is my mother was supposed to be called the "Belle" reason unknown. My grandmother Mary seen my grandfather Henry coming home from the war and when she seen him in the crowd of soldiers walking through the woods, she at 12 said that was the man she wanted to marry. I am looking for info on the father, mother or other ancestors of Jay Mack Purcell, Sr. He was born on October 21, 1902 and died on April 4, 1952 and is buried in Red Boiling Springs in Macon County. His father was Willie(?) Purcell and his mother was Roxy Purcell, who was a full blooded Seminole Indian, so her birth name was probably different. I also know that Jay was married his last time to Betty (King) Purcell, and all together I know of six children, Jay Mack Purcell Jr. ( always called Junior Mack or just Junior) who was from a prior marriage, I suspect there were other children as well. With Betty he had Mary Edith, Jay Dean, Carolyn, Bobby and Alma. Jay owned a small farm in Red Boiling Springs that Betty still owns, though she no longer lives there. I would especially like to know where his parents came from, especially his mother, and would like to trace any other Native Americans related to her. Also would like to know when his line entered this country and from where.

Sherwood BAILEY married Sarah Jane SUTTON just before the 1850 Census of Macon County. His age was given as 17, b. in KY; Sarah's as 16 and born in TN. Sarah's SUTTON family seems to be from Smith Co. Sherwood had a brother who joined the Confederacy, but I don't know his name. Sherwood was inducted into the Union forces and was wounded. Sherwood's descendants resided in Hartsville, Trousdale Co., in 1870. Later the families moved to Nashville where Sherwood probably died. Searching for documentation that links son John to father Barnett. Barnett, brother of Hezekiah, married to Barsheba Meador. Arrived and settled at Puncheon Creek area about 1815. John married to Sarah Roark. Both had large families. According to Harol d G Blankenship (History of Macon County) documentation may have been lost in fires at the court house. Further, Barnett may have left a Bible, and possible the Bible records his children. The Bible may have left Macon County and went to someplace in M issouri. Looking for information on Hillary Parrott, born 1886. Hillary Parrott married Mariah (Maria) Swift in July 1908. Hillary died in 1969 and is buried in Rossville(?). Hillary had nine children with Mariah, and four children with his mistress Lille Kelly. I was told that Hillary worked as a brick layer. It is said that Hillary had two brothers, George and Fred.
