Esq. J.D. Trimble died at the home of his son-in-law J.B. Ferguson in Ripley Thursday, May 4, and was buried in the old cemetery. He was born in Edgefield near Nashville on November 26, 1819, and moved to West Tennessee in 1867. He lived first in Crockett County, then Brownsville and moved to Ripley in 1880. He married Miss Artemesia Chaney in 1841 in Middle Tennessee. They had 5 girls and 3 boys; 2 sons and 2 daughters survive him, his wife having already died. He was a member of the Methodist Church and a Mason.
