Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Thompson's Mortuary in Ripley has charge. Mrs. Cates, the widow of Elbert Cates, leaves five daughters, Angela Hudson and Willie Mae Bantley, both of Halls, and Jennie Patricia Cates, Mary Fultz and Maggie Whirl, all of Lincoln, Neb.; three sons, Michael Cates and Robert Cates, both of Lincoln, and Charles Halliburton of Halls, 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
