W. R. Neighbours

Esq. W. R. Neighbours who recently moved to Memphis, died at his home there Jan. 31st. The remains were brought to Ripley the home of his birth 65 years ago, and laid to rest in the Old Cemetery. He was twice married, the first time to Miss Fannie Hearing, and of this union 3 children survive: Mr. W. H. Neighbours of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. J. A. Bandy of Miss., and Fannie Neighbours of Henning. His 2nd marriage was to Miss Ella Kennedy, who with several children survive.

He joined the Confederate Army and served until a bombshell took his leg at Chickamauga. Dr. W. H. Bruton, a comrade in arms, conducted the funeral service.
